What might be the tq & hp loss on long tube headers with stock cats & muffflers below 3000 rpm . Stock maraudrer motor 4.6L. sct tune only.

there will be no loss ,just not as much gain and i dont think you can use longtubes with factory exhaust

You will gain 3-5 hp because you will have to cut the primary cats out...

It's my understanding that if your still NA shorty headers are the way to go. Long tube headers on a NA car will result in torque loss at low RPMs.

That was my understanding a little loss on hp & tq at low rpm range.
I understand I must eliminate the primary cats is that legal ? What are others doing from headers back to keep emmisions were they need to be ? Will the installation alter my air fuel ratio ?

Come late March or early April Ill be installing long tube headers with a full exhaust, then Ill be hitting the dyno for a tune to make them work 100%.
I hear that Ill be losing some low end but my 4.10's and 3K Stall convertor will take care of any loss of power.

So with the installation of my long tube headers how much beond the collectors do I install my 02 sensors for a good reading ? From there do I just move the cats further back in the system because is it won"t pass emmission test without the catalyst converters.

Primary O2 sensor bungs are built in to the collectors. Secondary O2 sensor bungs are after the cats. Most performance tunes turn the secondary sensors off, but they may be needed to pass visual inspection for smog test. The bungs and cats should be already installed in the x-pipe which is available from the header manufacturer. That's the easiest way to go, it should be a bolt-in swap that way.

Probably the most fun I can have without installing the angry whistle under the hood!

I don't want to use a x pipe I've read they send to much niose to the interior cabin due to it"s placement.
But are the secondary senssors tied in with the primarys ? How do you shut them off ? Won"t this mess with the air fuel ratio?

Primary sensors are used by the computer to adjust afr. Secondaries are only used for emissions monitoring. They can be turned off in the tune.

Headers? Noise?

With stock exhaust, is there any benefit to turning off the rear O2 sensors?

I saw a real increase with my install. 30 plus on each side. Man I cannot wait until the spring thaw.
