I was hoping Martin would finally get it.

I noticed some of the commercials were better than the super bowl commercials.

The last 20 or so laps were great but a lot of fender bending and reversals. You watch the first 199 laps, still don't know who won.

In F1, quite often, you watch the first lap and you know 90% of the points maker ...

Toyota won't win a single Nextel Cup race this year. Mark my words!

For one, they have crappy drivers.

Too bad my man (Mark Martin) didn't pull it off. I was really hoping he'd finally get a Daytona 500 trophy! Damn you, Harvick!

If the Camry came with a V8 I might think about it.

But then again the only car out their that actually comes with a V8 in any model was the Monte Carlo SS and the Dodge Charger (not big on nascar so feel free to correct me on this one)

I say who cares. Cars are cars, if they move they win. I'm not gonna give someone a hard time or a car company because of where they come from.

Toyota IS the ONLY car made in USA!!

Ford, Chevy and Dodge cars are made in Mexico and/or Canada!!:shake:

only Fords that start the VIN with a "2" are made in Canada, "3" are made in Mexico, and "1" are made in the USA

Toyota's made in Japan start with the VIN with a "J"

Yes, it would have been nice for Mark Martin to finally pull off a Daytona 500 victory and take home the trophy. The finish was really close with only 0.02 seconds and about 5 feet separating 1st and 2nd place. Not a bad finish after 500 miles.

I disagree that all the Toyotas have "crappy" drivers .... we see this year.

Why wasnt the caution thrown and the field frozen....I wonder because 5 laps earlier the caution was thrown as soon as the wreck happend and the field was frozen....just because its the last lap shouldnt mean anything....the whole point of the field being frozen as soon as the yellow was out was so they wouldn't race back to the line and cause more or worse accidents. Had the caution been thrown Mark Martin would have won his first....

The Japanese get it. Outsourcing is not supposed to be done to seek out the cheapest labor. It is done to improve efficiency which will reduce the overall cost. Consider total inventory in the supply chain, transportation cost to the target market, raw materials cost, and total time from raw materials to finished product being sold.

If your not first, your last. Congrats to Toyota on a job well done. Not bad considering a few months ago no one thought they'd make the deadline at Daytona.

The 1st Toyota to cross the finish line was Dale Jarrett in 22nd place, highest placeing Ford was 5th, Highest placing Dodge was 6th. Top 4 finishers... Chebies.

Actually, that true of all vehicles, not just Fords. The SAE standard is the first two digits represents the country of origin, whether that Canada or Germany. (1, 4 & 5 are all US origin, 1G is a GM built in the US, 2M is a Mercury built in Canada)

I find it odd too, that the Jack Daniels car had the number inverted, but it was correctly oriented when he finished, because he finished sliding across the line on fire and on his roof.

What a race! :banana2:

I hadn't watched one since #03 died, and that was my first since. Good that his old team won!
