I need some for the Marauder now and I know some of you have Town Car rims and tires for winter. How much did that run you, what type of tires are they and how has everything been holding up?

Hey:

I'm driving my set in the fourth winter now. I have set of steel (non-OEM) rims with new Michelin X-Ice tires. They are working great. The rims I have a no longer available, but I paid $500 4 years ago in a Group Buy. This will probably run you about $600 today. There are some 16 CVPI rims that fit. If you do a search for winter tire/ winter sets you will find all the details you need.

Good luck,

Got a set of these rims: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/16-MERCURY-GRAND-MARQUIS-WHEELS-FORD-CROWN-VICTORIA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcat egoryZ43956QQihZ013QQitemZ2300 93282095

I put Mich latituted x-ice on. 225 70's all around. I don't have traction control so I could get away with the same tire for all four corners. I got them in December so I been able to test them in the past few storms we got. I live in Northwest Burbs of Chicago.

I got the tires from Tirerack (linked from this site). As for tires, they are quite for snow's. The car does tend to get a boat feel over 80ish on the highway. I am sure that is due to the taller sidewall. It is not bad, but don't expect to take offramps like you did with the stockers.

Overall I am very happy with the setup. Looks like a stock GM. I did have to buy open buldge acorn lugs to keep the caps on. Haven't got stuck and watched plenty of wipe outs around me, so feel real confident in the junk.

Hope this helps

16" 2003+ cvpi steelies with Winterforce M+S 235/70-16(front) 255/70-16(rear) I've had no problem with snow we just got here.
Plus this setup raised the whole car up an inch for better clearance.

If you are talking real snow, get the studded version of the WinterForce. They have made me a believer in past three weeks here. buried in the hills...

I was thinking of just getting a set of 5 spoke similar to Marauder 16" rims and M&S Winterforce tires for winter. Any thoughts on this?
