Hi all............

I am just visiting in hopes of the Marauder community maybe mxing it up at a Meet-n-Greet with us LX cars (LX platform consisting of Magnums, Chargers, and 300's).

My screen name of MomsR/T can be found on LX FORUMS

I discussed it with our people and we agree it would be good to gather the LED SLEDs around the country and possibly even compete in autocross and drag events...............

This is NOT a "my car is better than yours" request or invite rather an interest to gather 4200lb+ 4 door cars together of different makes and models and have a good time...............

Us LX guys / gals have NOTHING in common with Vettes, Vipers, Mustangs, Camaros, FIrebirds, and so on..............

I'm out of Houston and we try and gather about every 3 months or so; but we have members all over the country...................more than 10,000 strong.

We encourage you to visit us over there and hope we'll be welcomed here so we could possibly discuss events and so on.

I have also joined Impala SS FORUM in hopes of discussing the same thing. Our hopes are that they show an interest as well and colaberate with the FORD and DODGE communities to create a much larger XL MUSCLE CAR community.

Thank you for your time and hospitality.

Welcome Lee, don't be a stranger.

Although I know it's a long drive to PA, have you considered the All Ford Nationals, at Carlisle, PA. I believe it's the largest all Ford event in the country, and is very strongly oriented toward enthusiast groups, such as yours. We hope to have a strong MM turnout this year, and hope to see you there..

I'm not considering it, but you can help me spread the word...........we have a good showing in that area..............our FORUM has a regional section and if a few of us work at it we can bridge that gap.....

I've even suggest a new FORUM that caters to what I'm talking about; XL MUSCLE CARS

Not a site to "compete" or "replace" our normal FORUMS rather a common ground were we can discuss larger, more organized events............

I'm hoping HOUSTON can be one of the first to cater such an event...........if there are some HOUSTON folks please speak up or point them in our direction.

SID...........lets keep in touch and maybe you can help us throw the first XL Muscle event..........

I know we can get that track in Seally for something like this...........

I think it will take all year to get some momentum going but I think its a valid event..........

US 131 Dragway here in Mich. has a Chrysler event in July. This is great country in the summer. You are only 45 minutes from Lake Michigan. Mark your calander for the first week in Nov. For the Heavy car shootout put on by the Impala SS guys at Atlanta. Rules are 4000 lb minium with driver and lots of fun at Atlanta Dragway. Hope this helps you.

Hey Lee:
Welcome in! The SS guys may have provided some info. on this, but here in the Atlanta area the end of October, beginning of November there is exactely the event you described.

Its called the Southern, Super Heavyweight Shootout. its growing every year, and last year there were 4-5 Hemi/SRT-8's that offered some pretty good competition.
This event is held around the Atlanta Dragway @ Commerce, GA 65 or so miles north of Atlanta right on Rte 85.

Would be great to see increased numbers of Chargers, Magnums, and 300's at the event this year!:burnout:

Best regards,

Hey Lee I raced with several of your members last fall @ the heavy weight shootout in atlanta and they were a stand up bunch of enthusiasts...They were nice enough to show me the finer points of the the SRT's they were running...and their tail lites on one occaision...I look foreward to networking in the future with the LX forum members every chance I get...I have also taken measures to make sure that I wont be seeing anymore of your tail lites also so LOOK OUT !...Regards AL

Yo John I had to leave the car with Lideo for over a month just to make sure and I dont think 12.2 will be to hard to fathom... MM Meth #1 by alternative...

Just dont forget that was without his juice. I saw the car at the shop where I go and it was an SRT with a Vortec and a bottle> It was sweet, no expenses were spared. The car also had plenty of audio and video in it.

I like the 300s and they are the quickest of the bunch...Lighter I guess...Definately have earned my respect....Well see soon enough...If they ever crack the Mercedes computer encryption it will all be over for us...Right now the computer pulls timming and fuel between shifts to protect the drivetrain....They loose about a second on the 1-2 shift right now as I understand it...Its only a matter of time...

This is why I joined this site. Great to finally see the MOPAR guys extending the olive branch. Hopefully we can get something big planned for up north.

Another "AYE" vote from the Impala camp. Getting all the big domestics together is a great idea.

And for the MM camp - I can confirm that SSHS7 is indeed CONFIRMED. The contract with Atlanta Dragway has already been executed. As more information becomes available, I will post it on both this and the LX Forum site.

Car folks are car folks. We enjoy each others company.

Please consider cruise night every 4th Saturday
(begining in April) at Chuck's in Grapevine TX.

thanks for the welcome guys...............I included links to this TOPIC on my FORUM as well as the SS FORUM.............

I am talking to LedSSled............I am seeing if there can be another event, with his permission, that has the same like name, rules and so on here in Houston.................Yes... ............an SSHS - TX (?)

This is PURELY for geographical reasons...................we could pull from all of Texas, LA, AR, and OK.

Maybe we all support such an effort................if it grows with our support, why not a REGIONAL edition up north, west, and in Canada?

I dunno the answers and its why I'm trying to reach out............

It seems we all agree its a worth while event and that its relavent.

Just wanted to pop by and say we would all have a blast together, and the more the merrier. We have a core group of track nuts and we're slowly infecting the general population over in our own little world. It'd be a hell of a lot of fun to make this a multi-marque class big enough to sponsor our own series. Here on the left coast we're doing runs at Horsehoe Mile at Willow, as well as the big track, and for sure I am doing Laguna Seca again later this year. Hopefully we'll be expanding that.

The 300 guys have the most numbers and have had the most time for maniacs to have their way with them, but in terms of weight they are actually a touch heavier than the Chargers, and the Magnums are a touch heavier than the 300's. As for the computer, its already been cracked up to a point. The cars don't lose a full second but its a horrible experience nonetheless. Here's a 2-gear dyno pull. Click to enlarge.

With a hot replacement PCM I get an old-school torque spike now, along with a juiced-up fuel map. But nobody has yet figured out how to keep the computer from pulling timing. All we can do is overcompensate to fool the stupid thing.

Have any of you Dodge folks had any experience with the 426 Hemi strokers ???

Dyno Chart: The little man falling into the 1-2 shift abyss!!!

LOL.....

I would love to see a Northeast SSHS event!

I'm going to try to make Atlanta this year if at all possible.

I really like, and I am VERY jealous of what Chrysler has with the 'SRT' line of products.
I saw & heard my first SRT8 Charger up close the other day as it left a traffic light at WOT....SWEET! (I was in F150 4X4 company truck..:( )

I had a friend of mine install my set of 4.10 gears, my friend works at a Ford dealership so i'm pretty sure the technicians know what they are doing. Althought I recieved my car today and I love its new ride, but I did notice that my cruise control does not work. I wanted to know if this could of been caused because of the gearing upgrade. Any answer could help. Thanks!

Welcome to the site. I would be interested in something like that. We have an event coming up here in Lufkin on March 3 at Pine Valley Raceway you might be interested in coming up to attend. Racing starts at 11, actually its just a test n tune day, which is good because you can run as much as you want, very little waiting. Around 4 or 5 we head in to town for the cruise night at Ray's Drive Inn. Any interest in some of you guys making the 3 hour drive up for that?

Houston has 3 drag strips..................2 are 1/4 and 1 is 1/8.........we usually have good crowds and during racing season, the tracks are open 3 days a week (in most cases).

We are now moving forward and have starting discussing the possibility to have a LEADSLED event here in Houston (Seally)......................

I hope some of you in Cali contact Matt who chimed in earier..............they are dedicatedand could use some others of the 4-door type to join them.......................

Have any of you Dodge folks had any experience with the 426 Hemi strokers ???There's one guy who has had a built 426 stroker put into his his SRT. Promptly snapped a half shaft. replaced it and snapped another one ... And the SRT's have much beefier shafts than the 5.7's.

Other SRT's with combinations of quaife lsd's and hi stall torque converters are in the same boat. If you pump up the power and really stick, *pop*. We're worried about just a 'verter and DR's on 5.7's but none have broken ... yet, with a much wimpier half shaft. One theory is that the SRT's beefy half shafts may have been made too stiff, and lacking a little give are snapping. The 5.7 half shafts may have some flex and this may explain why none have failed yet.

Nobody really knows at this point. Our fastest 5.7 (no power adders and runs in the very high 12's) just installed cryo'd half-shafts so we'll see if they break.

Once we solve the half shaft problem then its time for the gears to blow, but hopefully the AMG uber-trannies we have back there will take it.

Thank god for Solid Axels! I have lurked around the LX forums before. I know that I will probably go to the Super Heavy Weight Shootout in Atlanta this year. I'm preying I can save up enough for it. I sure would love to go. Let me know if any of you Floridain LX guys ever want to meet up at Moroso. I'm sure we could have some fun.
