View Full Version : Exterior Color Poll
Please go to the Home page and vote for your favorite Marauder color.
So far the dark blue is ahead, but there is a vote for the yellow.
Now that would be one wild looking sedan!
Sort of a Mustang with 4 doors.
To find the poll go to to the right side of the page about halfway down and look for the "SURVEY".

The Autumn Orange they use to offer on the Ranger and Super Duties, with intensified metallic. Second Choice; In 1990 I had a Lincoln Mark VII that was Garnet Red, it was a little brighter than todays Med. Toreador Red.
Whatever additional colors that are offered it would be nice if they were Marauder only colors, even if it's a more or less metallic or a pearl version of an exsisting color.

So far Navy Blue is ahead with 38% of the votes.
Hurry up Ford and get that color on the delaer lots.

I love my Black Rauder. However, if I painted one, it'd be Dark Red with Black stripe(s) down the middle. If I win the Sweepstakes car thats the paintjob i'll ask for.
Barring that, if they build the X-100 as the rumor leakers have tested us with, I would probably consider getting one. If it has the blown 5.4L from the Lightning, I definitely will buy one and if it's 2-door Fastback I'll paint it red w/ black stripes.
The black is totally great though. Man it's tough to keep it sparkly though! :)

I wouldn't want one this way, but it would be a neat show vehicle...
Turquoise exterior, white interior with some stainless bright work, redlines and torque-thruster wheels.
Too retro ?

Yellow????????
It would be lost in a sea of taxi's. I heard Ford won't come out with a yellow Marauder because it would look like a taxi.

I have been painting cars for approximately 12 years. I do it as a hobby now, but used to do it for a shop.
Awhile back I had a guy come in with a 1982 Corvette (last year of the C3) and a color chip book called Charcools from Dupont. He chose a DEEP midnight metallic blue (candy coat) sprayed over a black base coat. In the shade the car was black. In the direct sunlight the it took on a DEEP blue silhoutte where the sun hit the metallics.
To this day it has got to be one of the most alluring finishes I have ever applied. The car looked absolutely menacing when you saw it. So hats off to Mercury for the Dark BLUE option. :p BLUE
lshultz,
Uhhh, I posted those results a month ago. It has changed since then.

Well, went out and looked at several dark blue colors on various cars in my area. Change my vote from white to dark blue. It's been over 105 here below Riverside, CA. for the past week, and having a white car does help keep the interior temps a little lower. But Dark Blue sure is attractive. Waiting until next year to get car to see if supercharger option will be made available. Maybe I should take a black one and paint it white in appropriate places. Then the CHP would really get on my back!

For those interested in seeing the blue that will be used on the Marauder, go down to your local lincoln dealer and find a Lincoln LS painted "Dark Navy Pearlescent". That's the paint they'll be using.

Is it similar to Ford's True Blue?

Not nearly as much metallic in it as True blue, it's darker, and has a pearlescent clear coat. IMHO, looks better than True Blue.
