Any special way of cleaning it or certain products to use? I was thinking of just using a K&N filter recharger kit but I thought I would ask before doing it.

Jay is the expert, but I have cleaned mine with the K&N recharge kit without issue.
Follow the directions closely, make damn sure it is dry and not saturated with oil before re installing.

+1. I've cleaned mine a few times and I use the K&N recharge kit. Don't over saturate with oil.

Many years ago I over oiled the K&N filter in my 96 Mercury Cougar. Plugged up the MAF. Ended up buying a new MAF because the Ford dealer said it couldn't be cleaned. Live & learn.

If you over oil you most likely will get a check engine light and code. Most FLAPS carry MAF cleaner in a spray can. Just don't touch any wires in the MAF. If you do, you'll be buying a new one!

Yes, it's very easy and you can use a K&N kit on your S&B filter.
Follow the directions and you'll be fine.
Many people get a 2nd filter so there not rushed with the cleaning process. Might be a good idea.
Thanks

This is a great idea, Jay. One for the winter and another ready to go for the summer. How much for just a filter for the Marauder kit?

Oh yeah I've heard plenty of the MAFS stories and how K&N caused the problem when it was really the customer over oiling the filter. I've always cleaned mine when I had a day off when I don't plan on driving so it has half a day to dry and the rest of the day to let the oil sit in and reinstall it the next morning. I clean my MAFS every 6 months since on all the Ford vehicles I've owned.

Is this the correct filter to order from the website:
S&B Powerstack filters 4X9”

Order placed for 1 new filter.
Now I can swap that on in the spring and take my time cleaning and re-oiling the current one and save for next winter.

I think my filter is very dirty and breaking down my MPG's and will probably order another one from you Jay. While you're at it, on the GT500 page, you have a misprint. :D It says "Superchrager" instead of Supercharger. ;)

Anyone out there got a PHP air kit? And if so do we need to do the same thing? Like either call PHP or maybe Dennis?

It's recommended you clean your filter, I just don't remember the intervals in which you should clean it in.

Well K&N says every 12 months or 12K miles or sooner if you live in dusty areas. I've always cleaned mine when I cleaned the MAFS also which is every 6 months since I log in about 20K miles a year. Kill two birds with one stone you know.

Doesn't Pauls give customers help on questions about there kits?
Filter maintance is all the same and I say 5-7000 miles or when it's hairy.
