Man, it's good to know that if I had children, I could save a lot of money by not giving them an obsolete college education!

It is absolutely amazing. I graduated from H.S. 25 years ago and went straight to a two year college where I studied automotive technology. Back then when we spoke of computers, it was the 8"x12"x2" silver box that was placed in the passengers compartment kick panel and did little more than control a few sensors in the engine compartment. We thought, wow, what technology. I worked in the automotive field until 1997 when I became a sworn full-time fireman. I worked in that capacity until July 1st of last year when I was forced to retire due to an on the job injury that left me unable to function as a fire fighter. Today, at the age of 42, I am back in school earning my bachelors degree and let me tell you what a difference 25 years has made in education. I am taking an accelerated class just to catch up on what has happend in the last 2 1/2 decades that I have been out of school. Luckily for me when I was an active fireman I was able to take some F.D. management classes during the nine years I was on the job. Had it not been for that I think I would be totally lost in school today.
