For those of you that are interested in military aircraft there will be a major air show in Columbus, OH next September at Rickenbacker International Airport. Stallion 51, an organization based in Kissimmee, Fl, in conjunction with the Columbus Regional Airport Authority is hosting the Gathering of Mustangs & Legends September 27-30, 2007.

This will likely be a once in a lifetime chance to see possibly up to 100 P51 Mustangs gathered at once. Also, the Air Force Thunderbirds have committed to this event. There will also be lots of other military aircraft.

Wow! 100? That is fantastic. I had no idea there were that many left. Every year we hit the Mustangs and Mustangs show at Fantasy of Flight in Lakeland, there usually have 6-10 on hand, and even that is impressive!

Wow !!! this is great--I have about 400 hours in a Mustang---Kentucky Air National Guard--256th Fighter Interceptor Sqdn, Standiford Field, Louisville.
1953-1956. That was a great time with many fond memories--the Mustang is , to me, the sweetest sounding, smoothest flying, fun airplane in the world. My dream is to go to Kissimme on my 80th birthday and fly the "51" again--keep your fingers crossed. Hoping nothing interferes with plans for Columbus. I love my Marauder, but the Mustang ROCKS. Now, you've got my adrenalin flowing. Maury
Very cool event! 100 P-51's, wow!

100 Mustangs, that'll make the ground shake. Wish I could make the trip. Saw some of the old heavy metal at the Lakeland, FL Fly-In years ago.

Yup, a Rolls Royce-Merlin ramping up the power curve is one sweet sound. I had the chance to hear a couple of them practicing for the Warbirds show at the EAA in Ohskosh years ago; I can only imagine what 100 of them would sound like.

The most beautiful and awesome airplane the Air Force has ever had in its arsenal!! Just the sight of one, not to mention the sound of one, makes my heart beat faster.
