The Marauder's biggest performance weakness is it's weight, the fact is these cars are pigs. Are there any light weight composite (carbon fiber / fiber glass) hoods available for these cars???

Use the search function to find out. A few effort were tried without success in the last few years.
One day somebody might step up and do one.

Has anybody checked the weight on a BMW 700 series lately?

You can take out all your floor mats and the insulation and trunk liner and go to mini spare in the 03s, remove the hood liner and the back seat and other non essential stuff...and it will be lighter but not quite as pretty or functional..A smaller battery will save 20 lbs and the ashtray and the console cover and the rear power window motors and automatic trunk opening solenoid and emblems and a bunch of other stuff...fill the tires with helium and take off the exhaust system and you will have it down to 3400 lbs in no time..not to flame as it is levity in my mind:P RAM

NO ONE makes an after market hood that is available for purchase. But....you can have one custom made

I used the search function first, guess how many hoods I found.....
I also just sent an e mail to a company I got to make a carbon fiber trunk lid for one of my other cars a few years back. I'll let people know what they tell me.

I've thought about this also, and I've come to the conclusion that it is kinda like Rosie Odonell wearing light weight clothing....
Yeah, she's a little lighter...BUT you still have a heavy PIG!
I'm going to move my battery to the right rear trunk area and be done with my weight concerns.

I am guessing it will be something on the order of...."Bend over and get the lube"

They charged me $375 for a full carbon fiber trunk lid for my other car, they seem to be more than fair on prices.

With risk comes reward. Many have explored the hood thing with Marauders. Many with mad skills and mad connections.
Some issues:
Support. It's a big hood with a big wind load and needs much support.
Clearance: Give it the needed support and it doesn't clear the intake.
Straightness/alignment: Big hood hard to make straight and true.
Rigidity: Our cars actually flex hood must work with the car.
Fastening: The fastening area is actually pretty small for such a big hood.
Hold up: Don't forget to build in a reinforced area for the hood props and make it strong enough not to beak or crack on the upward AND downward loading.
Bud, this is no civic hood!
Make it and make it right and they'll buy it.
Few here will take this endeavor seriously cuz we've seen it tried. Go for it dude. Not only would I buy one, I'd mod it with a true ram-air intake!

Hey... I've met a few of you guys. Lay off the beer and kielbasa for 6 months, and you'll have shaved off at least 2/10ths ;)

It's not that we don't like ricers. :puke: We just DON'T FIT in them!!!!! :banghead:
We need a car that actually weighs more than we do! :loco:
I'd much rather take the spare tire out of the trunk than off of my waist! :hmmm:

With this great list of features, i would add that most last insuccess were due to arguments on add on for the look. So the nearest from the stock dimensions with probably a subtil bulge on the center to allow room for most modders being N/A or supercharged would be great. Each buyer, having 80-85% done, would just have to cut and glue their envision of heat extractor or ram air or bull horn or moose head ornament depending of country of origins; whatever making them happy.
With success, we would even expand sales to CV and GMs and allow them to finance the next few Marauderville !!! :)

Agreed, as most could do the fiberglass work themselves needed to join their own choice of air adder/remover. Past insuccesses also had to do with joining fiberglass/bodywork add-ons to a metal hood that flexes!
I agree a basic bulge may accommodate the much needed support and avail itself to a number of air add/expel options. Perhaps may also provide clearance for 5.4 heads like Todds turbo car!
Yo skillz, you absorbing any of this?
