:mad2: Ok so this time the reverse lights are stuck on... even when the truck is off... would the reverse light switch cause this? I'm at a loss

I had a similar problem in my old car. It was caused by a bad switch in the steering column. The backup lights would turn on when i shook the shifter even whrn the car was off. The car was over 25 years old though. (I inherrited a P.O.S.)

What can I say, it's a Dodge.
Be happy it's just the reverse lights stuck on, and not the starter.

Sounds like a defective switch.

I believe that the switch for the reverse lights is on the transmission.

Sounds like a defective switch.
Yeah, but with the ignition switch off? :dunno:
Sounds like a couple of wires shorted to me  .....I hope you have a fire extinguisher at the ready.

Take out the bulbs for now.. or just pull the connectors off inside the rear sheet metal...then go to the tranny and pull the plug...
