After a considerable amount of time dedicated to a search, I finally snagged a pristine, low-mileage '04 Marauder...its the toreador red version which I understand is/was made in fairly low production numbers. Added this car to my "stable" that includes an '03 SVT Mustang Cobra and a triple-black '99 GT convertible. Now the "family" is closer to being complete.

My question centers around the reference to the '300A' and '300B' I've seen in my brief sojourn through the forums. What precisely is the difference between the two and which iteration would my '04 be?

Also, what were the specs on the factory tires? I think the front ones on my vehicle are replacements and I'm unsure if they're the correct size.

Further, being a Ford and Mustang fan, I know there exists numerous upgrades in the aftermarket for the MM as well as the Mustangs. What's the most frequent power upgrade you guys and gals see for the MM?

thanks,

Jim

Tune! Tune! Tune!

Did I mention to get a Tune?

The Marauder from the factory is badly configured as far as tranmission shifting, slow soft mushy shifts. It's worth the bucks for the improvements to the tranny shifting alone. It will also free up more horses!

Tune! Tune! Tune!

Xcalibrator2 with tune is available from one of our fine supporting vendors. It will also read all later model Ford trouble codes and clear them.

I am running improved air intake, freer flowing mufflers and a tune. Those three things work together to make the car a LOT more fun.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site.

Your '04 300A is like the '03 300B: donut spare, t/c, non locking fuel door, clock in the radio, no auto e-brake release, or fron seat map pockets.

Welcome! That's quite a collection of cars you got there. Along with what Brian said, you can read this: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31102&highlight=300A+300B+difference s
Biggest upgrade/s you could do is a tune, intake and perhaps exhaust. But, trust all of us, you need to get a tune.

Welcome Aboard, from one DTR owner to another....

The tune will help now.... and later. You won't go over 127 MPH without a tuner.

Only '03 have A & B cars all '04 MM are A cars. The '03 B cars are set up like yours, donut spare, no remote fuel door, no stand alone clock, no map pockets in the front seats, etc.

Also, what were the specs on the factory tires? I think the front ones on my vehicle are replacements and I'm unsure if they're the correct size.
Front are 235/50 rear 245/55 all 18" wheels, can not mixed on your car due to traction control.

Jump right in and supercharge it if $$ allow for it. Sway bars & control add so much! Chip, gears, tune, exhaust etc. help out as well, best show up at a meet and check out other cars.
thanks,

Jim
