For the longest, I was always wondering about why I had to be so close to my car for the doors and car alarm to activate; yesterday, I had to go 5 feet from it to lock my doors (I forgot too), but when I hit the door lock, there was no horn and the lights were faint. When I opened the car doors and push the door lock, the interior lights went dim. Has anyone else experienced this?

Dirty contacts may also be the problem, did you get it wet?

Hmmm, contacts, I didn't check, but it was after the rain came Thursday night. It started, but the volts were low, then it came up to normal. I'll check the contacts, may be time for another battery. Which one is the best for that car (totally stock)?

Thanks BDJ and D'. I haven't checked the battery yet, but some other strange stuff happended today. I was driving and all of a sudden the traction control light came on, then the abs/brake light would flick on and off. Then the radio would come on and off. The traction control light stayed on the whole time. The volt meter would go from 10-12 the whole time; then all of a sudden, everything went back to normal. Do you guys think there's Aliens involved on this one?:help:

Go get the charging system check before your car is on the back of a hook!

When I bought my 04 I noticed the voltage being between 10-12, took it back to the dealership the following weekend and they said it was a low charging alternator and it was replaced. If your alternator is charging on a low level its going to wear down the battery faster over time than normal plus try replacing the battery in the key fob.

Thanks guys. I'll have the alternator checked out. I drove it today, no problems at all. It stayed charged at 14 all day. Thanks again.:banana2:

Loose terminal on the alternator. You have any mods that moved the alternator or disturbed the wiring from the batt and alt?

Dont get too excited, that sounds like either a short, or a loose ground, I would check the battery terminals

Well, finally found the culprit to all my problems. The reason for my mistunes were a grounding issue. I drove my car to Safford in Silver Spring, MD, the guy asked me to move it to the service bay; it wouldn't start (8 volts). It had to be pushed in:( . Good to go now.
