With State Farm, I was pleasantly suprised that my rates for the new 2003 Marauder were lower than other 2003 cars I priced, including 2003 Chevy Impala, 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, and 2003 Mustang Mach I. It was even cheaper than my 2000 Chevy Blazer if you can believe that.... when I called for rates, it was last September, and she said the rates were the lowest she had seen for any of the 2003's that she had done quotes on...and was a little suprised. Basically the Marauder's EXCELENT safety rating, double 5 star, one of the top cars tested for 2003, is what helped out. In fact, along with the standard multi car discount, antitheft discount, no accident/violation discount, I was floored when I discovered a "VEHICLE SAFETY" discount, which amounts to $52.06 a year. I know its not a lot, but I have never owned a vehicle that qualified for it. My premiums are around $100 a month during the summer when I drive it, and for the winter I suspend coverage (except theft and fire) and it costs me maybe $15-20 a month for storage insurance. It's important to note that my rate is for $100 deductible comprehensive, $250 Broadbased collision, and a decent liability for property and personal injury. Hope this helps. I know for me the great insurance rates and the cars safety rating made me feel a lot better about buying the Marauder.
