I searched high and low looking for the flat low profile wipers my Marauder, originally had, No luck anywhere. Yeah I know most you guys don't like them. But, the premium motorcraft wipers are gigantic compared to the flat blades. I checked several flat blade producers but nothing fits our cars.
If anyone see's or hears of the flat low profile blades that could fit our cars I'm interested.
When you look at your car you don't even see the OEM windshield wipers. Now it kinda looks like I have two arms coming out my windshield. Somewhere there's got a be a warehouse full of these OEM rejects?

Canadian Tire sells blades that are similar, the are called REFLEX.....So what you might want to do is start searching higher(geographically)

Naw, the CTs are still bulbous by comparison. The factory blades had the worlds smallest connection point. I'd try the Volvo route. The factory blades were excellent.

Try bosch wipers....never tried the REFLEX, how does it compare to OE?

Try the Bosch ION wiper blades, they are low to the glass like the OEM's and have a wind deflector which works great at keeping wipers on glass at high speeds. They are a little pricey at $22 each at PEP BOYS.

The Trico Innovision is the most similar to our OEM beam blade wipers. The notable difference is that the mounting bracket has grown to 4-5 times the size. There are also other beam blade or bracketless wipers that use a vertical/perpendicular rib. The Valeo Ultimate, Bosch Icon, and the new Trico Neoform. I still prefer the OEM also. By the way, the Reflex looks like the Trico Innovision.

I've never tried them, allthough lots of people say they like them...like they would say otherwise after payin $25 per blade......I'm OK with regular blades...try not to drive in the rain...too much work to clean a black car.

Check out the Rain-X Latitude blades. They look good, but I have no idea how well they work.

I was told by a Ford parts guy that those OEM low profile wipers were discontinued. They came stock on my 03 Sport.

I am going to give these a try. Look at the Flexblade model.

I have these and they work good, low profile just like stock ones, and they also look good.

Not sure if it is the same style you are talking about, but the Ford Five Hundred also use the non-braced new style of wiper blade. I assume this is what you are talking about as I remember the first time I got blades for my car the parts guy asked if it had the "old style" or "new style like the Five Hundred has". I said "old style" and have been running the Motorcraft ones ever since. Replace every 6 months or so.

But might see if there is a cross reference for the ones that the Five Hundred run, too, if you want an OEM one.

Do you still have the original wipers somewhere? You can replace the actual rubber blade and still use the metal part. At least in theory :) I still have my originals on the shelf in my garage for this reason, but I'm too lazy.

I have always liked the original blades on my Marauder. Marty was nice enough to send me his wipers when mine went bad. Luckily now I live in Arizona and will never use my wipers again. They may melt but they should never wear out.

oh well, you can always just keep them good with wiper blade dressing
