Went to the local dragstrip for their last Sunday Test&Tune yesterday 03/25.

Best run
R/T - 0.646
60' - 2.094
1/4 - 14.25
MPH - 98.21

Was very pleased this time because all 4 of my runs were within a few tenths of eachother unlike other times.

I think it's a pretty good time for the amount of mods I have which are a JLT intake, Xcal2 DR tune (only increased shift line %), GM COP, second pair of cats removed, flowmaster 40's, res-delete tips, pro-guard and 255/55-18 kdw2 tires at 26 psi. I've had my mind set to break into the 13's without doing 4.10s, 3000 stall tq, headers (with larger dia. exhaust piping), plugs and electric water pump. I think the next mods will be plugs and electric water pump and see where I'm at.

Thanks guys, is that a respectable time for the car with those type of mods?

I think I need to play a little more with the user end adjustments of the xcal2 unit like the spark 0-2000, 2000-4000 and 4000-6000 plus the shift mph. If anyone has some insight on that stuff let me know please.

Most of the vehicles I ran with yesterday were pretty evenly matched up but I noticed I'd get the jump on them and had the lead on two of the four cars I raced against but by the 1/8 point they were either gaining fast or taking the lead.

You should come out to one of the NVMC test-n-tune dates in Hagerstown. Less people more runs and a great view of the mountains. Happy to see you are enjoying your car. :banana2:

When is their test & tune?

We are officially on the Mason Dixon Dragway schedule folks!!! We have track dates set from march through september!!! Our first drag day of 07 will be Sunday March 25th from 8am to 12pm!! The only changes to this year is the new day (Sunday) and ALL CARS HAVE TO HAVE MUFFLERS!! We have a march date for the first time in years. I hope everyone is ready to rumble As we have stated already prepay amount is $50 this year and $60 at the gate. We Have to get 40 racers prepaid before each drag day or else we will cancel the event so please try to prepay and if you can't make it then notify us BEFORE the event (atleast the day before) and let us know and we will move your money to the next track date or give it back. All prepays can be sent via paypal to enforcir@gmail.com and don't forget to add the paypal fee so all paypal payments need to be in the amount of $52.00. Obviously, if you pay Ceece or myself in person then it is $50 cash. Make sure you bring pants and shirts with sleeves. No shorts, tank tops, muscle shirts or open toe shoes allowed!!

You'll have a great time and get plenty of runs!

ctrlraven

Is it a one time fee or that's whats needed for each race day?

Breadfan
03-26-2007, 01:34 PM
It's per event. They rent the track for 4 hours, being a private rental the fee to get in is higher but the benefit is a small close knit crowd and some have run 19-20 runs on a single drag day.

ctrlraven
03-26-2007, 02:22 PM
So it's a pre pay of $50 and then 60 at the gate for a total of $110 for a single day?

Breadfan
03-26-2007, 04:00 PM
Oh, I gotcha, no, it's either or, $50 if you prepay, OR, if you just show up it's $60.

Each time they have to meet a quota of cars to make the event happen so prepay is preferred.

I was going to say lol I'll just stick to paying $20 and go to Capitol lol.

What the max allowed of people? I have some fellow Ford friends that would love to have some private track and run against some Marauders.

Good times ctrlraven...14.25 is a pretty fast ride...especially for a 4 door monster that's NA with so few mods...good decrease in time for $ spent...good job...willie
OBTW was the cal tune off the shelf or did he tune your car with a dyno?...willie

Thanks, for answering my question about mods to 1/4 time ratio lol.

Yeah the tune is off the shelf. I don't know if doing a dyno tune at this stage of the game would be worth it because of so few mods, though I might be able to squeeze a few more ponies out but the last time I had it dynoed it was 278rwhp and 309rwtq which I had no tune for them to lock it in 3rd and kept wanting to down shift so I'm going to try and get it dynoed again sometime soon.

Very good run, but your 60' is off the chain. And all this without 4.10's, I'm putting my 3.55's back in. All you needed was a video camera.

By the way, what was the temp when you ran?

I had a video camera but it was kind of hard to have my buddy (who I ran against twice) tape me lol. I doubt I'll be going with 4.10s only because I do a lot of highway driving and I like my low cruising rpms lol. I believe the temp was mid 60's, it was sunny enough to leave my face, neck and arms bright red with a sun burn lol. The EBC rotors/pads really helped me launch a lot harder cause I could preload the TC a lot higher, used to be 1800-1900rpm range and now it's 2300-2400rpm.

ctrlraven...what kind of fuel mileage are you getting with that setup?...thanks...willie

ctrlraven
03-27-2007, 09:31 AM
It could be better lol. I average about 15.4-16mpg and thats been with 70% city/ 30% highway. I by no means drive her easy when its clear I feed the speed to machine quite often and more than I should. When I'm out on the highway the mileage goes way up 22-23mpg. I usually get 260-280 mile to just below a 1/4 of a tank and rarely ever let the low gas light come on.

Thanks for the reply...cause unlike others on here I do watch fuel mileage...willie

I also am a stickler about gas mileage, and with the 3.55's I got a little above 16 mpg in the city, and now with the 4.10 I get a little below 16 mpg. 10 gal. takes me about 150-160 miles. My fuel range hasn't changed much, unless I'm above 90 mph, then fuel economy goes out the window, but the power gain....

We need more people to drive these beasts the way they were engineered to be driven.
