My New Toy

I bought a Sony MiniDV HandyCam (DCR-HC38) for the Austin Spring Run and was trying to figure out a way to mount it. Then it came to me....I got my Sirius Satalite Radio a few months back and did not use the suction mount....so I figured I could use that to mount the camera to the windshield. I had some extra hook and loop and cut two small pieces, stuck one side on to the camera and the other to the mount and vwala.....instant cameral mount.....came out great....

Just be careful if you have to stop suddenly.


The only way that camera or mount is going anywhere is if it get knocked off in an accident.....I have tested it out pretty well....going over speed humps, sudden stops, fast starts, quick turns and a couple of unforseen pot holes....it never budged.

Jim, I thought for sure I might have some trouble with the glare but none as of yet....I have yet to drive towards the sun at sun set with it on so we will see what happens.....
