trying to decide about a torque convertor.....will a convertor from the 04 MM with the higher stall fit in a 03?.....should i just get a PI stallion w/ a 2500-2800 rpm stall?..not looking to go all out to a 3000 stall....am i just wasting my time?...does everybody run the 3000 stall or are there people who have lower stalls?...any advice would be appreciated:)

Personally, I would not invest the time and hassel for a <3000 Stall TC. Too much $$$ involved for the final result, unless you do the work yourself. Even then...your time IS worth something...

3000 is not 'all out' 3500 is.

Sure....why not. :D
Is there someone in your area w/ a 3000 Stall'd MM? A test drive is ALWAYS the best way to form an opinion
Many on here have 3000's. I opted for a 3500 w/ my Blower :D

To answer the question, 3000 is quite good for a daily driver. Most of the 'issues' people complain about when using a higher stall in a daily driver can be corrected with tuning.
For example:
Problem, loss of 'creep' on an incline. Solution, turn up the idle in drive to 900-1000 rpm. Added benefit, better charging due to alternator turning higher RPM.
Problem, 1st gear 'slip'. Solution, make the 1st - 2nd shift really low at light throttle. Make it shift later in RPM's as throttle percent increases.
The higher converter will give much better uses of available power and torque. Tuning is key.
DR's base tune for a 3000 torque converter works very well. I tweaked my own from his base to accomodate my own driving style.
Edit: Saw you have a Lidio Xcal2. Just email Lidio and tell him you now have a 3000 converter and I'm sure he'll send you a good tune for use with it.

I have a 3000 speed stall with a PI Stallion aand 4.10 gears. Drive it daily and race it as well. No problems at all on the street.

I had a 3000 and really liked it. I just sent mine in and got a stall change to a 3500. Still happy. I will admit when I first got the 3000 in I wasnt really happy with it. Mostly becouse my tuning wasnt really good for the tc. Now I am happy with it. I have a tune for both computer codes. If you have the trans out you should do the J-Mod to the valve body. Really helps with the stall. I did mine and used the .109 and becouse I had the stall I also made some of the holes .125 Read this link it describes the J-mod. And its totally free.

+1 My car is N/A and was used as a daily driver with the 3K stall and 4.10's. No driving issues here. Go for the 3K stall, your wasting time and money going with anything less.

I know the higher stalls generate more heat. Do you need an additional trans cooler?

Definitely a good precaution with a higher stall convertor, although the Marauder has a nice, big OEM tranny cooler.
Cool transmissions are HAPPY transmissions!
