OK, I think I am need to remove my driver's front seat tonight to check it over. A couple of days ago I went out for lunch and felt this kind of popping feeling from the bottom cusion of the seat (yes, it was the seat, not me).

Anyway, it has been doing it ever since and is bothering the crap out of me. As long as you you don't hit a bump the seat is fine. As soon as you do and you behind moves a little on the bottom cusion there is this pop you can feel in the bottom seat cushion.

I did notice this morning that it did not seem as bad after the seat heater was on and the seat warmed up, but it was still there. And it has never done this before it started a couple of days ago.

I have already checked the seat and it is mounted tight and doesn't move around. I have felt around underneath there and did not find anything I could reach. So the next step is to pull the seat out and check it out.

So, has anyone done this for any reason before? Is it just 4 bolts and a couple of connectors and finagle out through the door? Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

Just so you know, you are not alone. Left cheek for me.....

I just try to ignore it. Let me know what it is, assuming you figure it out.

There may be nuts that are accessible from inside th interior, under the black plastic trim piece. Prolly 4 for each front seat.

The seat bolts are prone to snapping, take it easy when you remove them.

I too have driver seat problems.
I have an annoying squeek/creak in the back left corner
when I lean on the seat back.
Is there a need to disconnect the battery due to airbag
concerns when pulling the seat.
I think I need to pull out the seat and lube the crap out of it.
Any suggestions.?
I tried cranking the seat all the way up and silcone spraying the
the joint
Didnt work, but sure smells purty down there now.

I remeber my 97 CVPI had a bolt snap due to rust, and probably a 16 yo driver.:) . Well, I had to get a stud welded into place it was a pain.

Well, I don't know what the problem was, but it is gone.

Taking the seat out was pretty easy. Remove headrest to give you room to take out. Remove 2 13mm bolts up front, slide seat forward, remove 1 13mm nut on left side and 17mm (?) nut on the other side. Front bolts had a little rust, but not bad. Tilt seat forward and remove the 4 connections underneath and take seat out.

I unhooked seat cover pieces, removed and re-installed a couple bolts, took seat back off, adjusted rear lumbar bladder so it was where it belongs. Sat in the seat and rocked and no noise. Put it back together. No noise/movement that was annoying me.

Put back in and sat and rocked around a little and no issues. Took for a test drive and seems to be fine again. Not sure what it was.

I did take that opportunity to vacuum under the seat area. Really wasn't too bad. And I even found a quarter.

So far so good. And you anal people, this is easy to do to clean under the seat.
