I may be putting MadMax up for sale soon. Just wanted to see if anyone here might be interested in the car. I'd love to see it go to a fellow Panther enthusiast, before putting it up on Ebay. Thoughts?

He has an MM. Yea Sal why are you selling it? I'd buy it if I didn't have my MM already. How much are you asking?

First off.... I hope there it not a serious situation behind it's sale. I hope you are bored, and ready to move on.

Second.....that is a B!TCHIN car!!! I hope you get the chance to sell it to someone who will appreciate it!

Third....I wish I had some extra $$$ :(

Fourth....just because you sell your car you DO NOT have a reason to not be here! You have friends here....do NOT forget us ;)

KillJoy

PS - Good Luck!!!

The car itself is in nice shape, interior is mint, the 5.4 is built with manley rods and CP pistons, it has cams, the Whipple twin screw, 60 lb injectors, twin 255s, Metco control arms and driveshaft loop, and a line lock. The trans is a fresh rebuilt unit with the J mods and custom convertor. I just put long tube headers on it last week, and will be retuning the car soon.

I would like 10k for the car; the first person to come up with the dough gets it :).

I am selling it because I really don't NEED this car (I have a few others) and I could use the $$ to put towards paying off some bills that stacked up over the slow winter.

...the money isn't a problem, but I need it delivered. I can't get away for more than about 8 hours. Anybody want to drive it (from NY?) to Michigan?

If you do decide to buy it and need a driver I can do it in about 2 months. A friend of mine is taking a job an hour away from NYC and I'm going to visit him. Let me know if you need my assistance. ;)

I think the idea is to deliver the car in one piece.

I'm glad it sounds like someone is buying it, it's going to help stop that twitching and fidgeting thing I do where I get antsy and keep checking my wallet to see if money appeared. ;)

That's a mean car, and would make for one awesome commuter car!

...I am looking into a transport company. I have three references so far.

I can't get away because I am taking care of my 86 year old mother (Alzheimers). Haven't had a (real) "vacation" since 2001.

Can someone please photoshop a teardrop bubble hood on it? I'm curious how it would look.

I still have the teardrop hood off the '66 Galaxie I had. I bonded a 3" fiberglass teardrop bubble to the factory hood, and it turned out really nice. Believe it or not, the '65-66 hoods had an open area in the underneath bracing that was perfect for the teardrop.

Yeah, it's no big deal John. I get bored easily anyway. I have had over 70 Fords since I was 15 years old. I'll wind up building some other insane project in a few months. Just for right now, I could use the dough, and selling Max was the fastest way to achieve that.

Wow Sal, This must only mean that you are going to get bored soon and create something much more evil. :D

To the buyer, After seeing and hearing this car in action, you are getting something special that was built and tuned by the best.
You definitly got your money's worth!
Best of Luck to you.

I hope you dont leave the board Sal since your Panther connection is sold.

Well, it's done and done now Sal lol. Has GreekGod found a transport yet for the car?

GreekGod
04-12-2007, 10:28 AM
...I'll be sending Sal the final payment today, and choosing a transport contract. "Specialty Mobile Systems" is 5 star rated, with 331 reviews in the last year on transportreviews.com (http://www.transportreviews.com/company/), so I'll probably be going with them.

...I didn't get many responses to my post about Bonneville Marauders (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=34338), so I'm now dreaming about joining the 200 mph club with the MadMax CVPI.

I can see the headlines now:

"Bonneville speed-week driver dies,

fear induced heart attack is suspected "

Congrats on the acquisition Greek God. Glad to see this horse found its way to someone who appreciates what it can do. I will be at Woodward this year. Hope to see you there:banana2: Bonneville sure would be fun in Mad Max.....

Sal...... Looking forward to your next project:D

GreekGod
04-12-2007, 04:02 PM
Well, the GreekGod has always preferred big Fords. His father worked for the downtown Grand Rapids Ford dealer before WWII (Gerald Ford was a customer), and 2 more by the time he retired in 1984. It is in the family genes.

He has owned a 1962 Sunliner, 1961 Fairlane, 1966 Galaxie 500 XL, and a 1968 F100. His current 4 wheel rides-1985 Crown Vic 2dr, 1979 F150 4x4, 1979 U-Haul "F37...", 1993 Grand Marquis, 2003 Marauder, and soon to be 2000 CVPI.

The '85 has to go :bigcry: . Hoping the neighbor kid buys it for $500.

Thanks (to all) for the congrats. I understand the Woodward Dream-cruise is a groovy scene, but I can't go until my situation changes.

We have a mini (28th Street) Dream-Cruise here in G.R., "only" about 100,000 showed-up last summer, and it was only the 2nd anniversary. A popular large parking lot at 500 28th Street S.E. is 1/4 mile from my house. Anyone who wants to attend can rendevous at my place (park your trailer, store your luggage/tools or whatever).

They're not widened, they're just thicker rims. I believe Sal used Cragar's? And the tires are Mickey Thompson's.
