And no I did not blow my motor up. The old motor is on the floor with 65 K on it runs perfect, and is going in my 98 Mark 8, but I wanted to install this, it has been on my engine stand collecting dust, this is a 03 Marauder block fully balanced with .20 over Mod max rods and pistons, steel crank, HV oil pump, ARP main studs, Fox Lake fully massaged ported and polished heads, stainless steel valves and retainers, ARP head studs, 98 Cobra exhaust cams 2001 Lincoln Navigator intake cams, a extrude honed lower intake, Aeromotive fuel rails, for now 42 pound injectors, will go to 60's after break in, Vortech T trim. Parachute optional more pics later on, Jerry is going to massage the transmission, and it will be backed with a 3500 Triple disk.

I wanted to use a JT trim but I have a T rim and I had this set up in my Mark 8, and it made 550 RWHP so I will wait and see, I want to try and make world Ford Challenge, at Indy

Dennis Reinhart

Damn! Do you sell those RED fuel rails?

There made by Aeromotive, and yes we sell them, as you can see in the picture there is a remote adapter for the the fuel rail pressure sensor, if you try using regular rails for a Cobra they have the FRPS located on the top of the rail but the Marauder intake is the opposite of the 01 Cobra so they will not work, CPR did at one time make a set for me, but I opted with these. I also went with the 98 Cobra front timing cover as I have for years, on high RWHP 4V motors because of a better belt tensioner and belt routing.

Well here she is, with 63 Miles on a the motor a 2.68 pulley, Jerry educated on me on a new trans, PI helped with a new triple disk converter, the car started up and runs perfect after 500 miles I will put on the dyno.

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/FRONT03BLUE.jpg

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/03BLUEDS.jpg

Now if you look close here you will see some thing strange, the car has 2 Maf sensors, one is shown which is the SCT B2400 this is good for about 500 RWHP and as shown is in a suck through configuration. As shown air is sucked in past the Maf through the S/C

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/B2400IAT.jpg

Now as you can see in the above pic, the new 05 GT Maf element is in a blow through configuration, and this Maf element has the IAT built into it, and it is set up for the IAT position just before the TB this configuration gives better throttle response and a breeze in tunning, but it uses a Diablo Mafia. This is a Maf extender which will be required, which is on back order, will extend the range of this Maf element to over 800RWHP, this Mafia mates with the OEM large Maf connector to the new 05 GT Maf element negating the need to cut and splice wires. And I can run a much larger air filter, since the Maf will be gone and it will have one of our custom air boxes which is now at the powdwer coaters.

Here are the 14 KVR after 35K

There really is no since in doing this, since my past kits are set up as a draw through, if you converted to the new GT blow through it would require a new dyno tune.

Here is the complete kt with the air box once I convert to the blow through we will make the air box bigger since the Maf will not be there and this will allow for a larger air filter.

Here is a brief update on my car, Tuesday we had it on the dyno and it made 500 RWHP and 450 RWT the car has now 683 miles on it, along with 60 lb injectors and the Aeromotive fuel rails, which were fed by the stock line back to the tank.

We are using the new 05 GT maf in a blow through, so I just left the SCT B2400 in place, since the AF is there, I had a PHP intake spacer so we added that, did another pull the car gained 15 RWHP with the PHP spacer, so then we look at the small air filter and realize there has to be some restriction with the maf there, so we pulled that off and did another pull the car made 535 RWHP and 465 RWT a gain of 19 RWHP, but the car was going a tad lean, about .4 % above 6K so I decided to add the Kinsler fuel filter and a dash 8 lines, today we dyno the car again, and it still was going a bit lean, the FP duty cycle was showing 100% so I hate having to use a BAP so I decided to try this, we ran a #10 gauge wire from the battery back to the FP bump relay, we cut the 12 V out put lead going to the FPDM. I add in a 40 amp relay this is triggered by the FP signal but it feeds the twin GT pumps with the larger wire which of course conducts more current and sure enough the FP duty cycle dropped to 83% saving me the pain and expense of installing a BAP.

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/03BLUEDS.jpg

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/nmr.jpg

I will design a nice new larger air box to go over this larger AF.

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/6/kinslerTB.jpg

As shown the red wire is the #10 guage going to the FPDM next week we will reroute this and install adel clamps on the dash 8 line

Its a valid point Steve, but to increase the diameter of that pipe would require a complete rework of the fuel pumps and the pick up tubes, and its not needed at this point

I will definitly be putting it on now that I see what you gained...!!!! Do you have to retune if all you changed is that????

Jerry had me at 11.0 a/f. You think I would still be ok until Jerry comes back and I have all the break in miles for the more agressive tune?

Well here is update of my car I will post some pictures later this week, the car ran perfect all the way to Indiana and almost got home, it lost the mezirie water pump in Valadusta Ga, this pump was over five years old and had over 50K on it and it had a bearing failure, but we took care of that, and Vortech has sponsored us a JT Trim, I had a T Trim and with the same pulley as the T Trim the car is making the same boost 18 PSI and on 93 Octane the car made 589/490 with race gas and some minor tweaks the car will easily make 600 RWHP, so I am happy with this number, I have no plans to install a roll cage so once the car runs 11.49 I am done at any NHRA track, and the car 11.52 at the beginning of the summer on the T Trim with 17" M/T. I will post some track times soon, since I do not race in the summer here, and we are finally getting cooler weather.

Every one has there favorite car mine was Glassmans car, Scott Levine said it was the best street driven Marauder he had ever driven, my car is very close to this, his car, made about 600 RWHP when it left here and got 19 MPG on the highway, his car had the JT Trim but his car was a suck through Maf where mine is now a blow through, I feel I loose some idle quality and every day drive ability with my car but again 600 RWHP is lot for a daily driver, my car has 70K on the clock, I drive it every day to work. Steve has made extensive changes to his car and it should be vet fast with low ET's, I am going to have fun enjoy the people I have made happy and meet new friends and share as we always do our love of this car.

According to NHRA our cars can run 11.0 without a roll cage. Full bodied, 4 door with unaltered firewall. 11.49 is for Mustangs. At least that is what I was told at the NMRA event in Bradenton when we were there in March.
