Do you know WHY I got into performance cars??? Back '87ish, newish in the Navy and stationed in Pearl Harbor, I bought this SWEEEEEET 1968 Cougar. I didn't know much about cars at the time, but I loved this 'lill 302 2bbl car like nothing else since.
I got PASTED by Grand Nat on the H1 one day... then all hell broke loose.
I discovered the Navy "auto hobby shop". I discovered Alan Roots and Currie Enterprises and a whole lot more... and (it's true!!!), I had a re-match mebbe 8 months later.
The Grand Nat EXPLODED all over the freeway somewhere 'round 140 MPH and I was HAPPY about it :D
Been a Ford man ever since

Cars I almost have owned.

Not in Order:

1984 Aston Martin Lagonda (someone put a deposit on it before I got to it)
2004 VW Phaeton 4.2 V8 (bought Marauder instead)
2004 Jaguar XJR (liked Phaeton better)
2003 Jaguar S-Type R (Wrong Colour)
1984 Chrysler Executive Limousine (still might buy it)
1993 Subaru SVX (may buy for winter use)
1984 Lotus Esprit (may buy for summer use if Marauder is winter capable)
1984 Maserati Quattroporte (It came with a sunroof)
1990 Rolls Royce Silver Spur (Sold before I got it) :(
1989 Bentley Turbo R (7.5MPG highway scared me away)
2007 Suzuki SX4 (ignored by dealership sales people, so I left)
2002 Mercedes G500 (too pricey but also too narrow, inside)
1996 Oldsmobile 98 (mileage too high, 194,000km, bought Marauder instead, for considerably more)

Now I don't believe I've ever seen one of those before. What's it based on? The Fifth Avenue? Or the whatever the "luxury" version of the K-car was?

PhastPhil

It was also known as the Chrysler mini limo. Basically it was a K-Car that was stretched. Which made it the about size of a real car.
