notice that 1st gear and 2nd gear are taller ratios, not by much - but new taller 2.82 versus older shorter 2.84 for 1st gear & new taller 1.50 versus older shorter 1.55 for 2nd gear. ALSO noticed that the new torque converter is 11.25" compared to the older 11.5" converter. maybe THE CHANGES are due to a supplier change !! also, the 2004 ford mustang mach 1 is rated 310 hp - 335 tq in the 5sp / 308 hp - 325 tq with the same auto as the 03 MM. if the MM new 2004 tranny allows more torque, why is its rating the same as last year. i find it hard to believe that the auto mach 1 has more room in the engine bay for less restrictive exhaust manifolds !!

The transmission doesn't affect FLYWHEEL statistics. All those useless numbers are from the flywheel.

The Mach1 gets a couple of ponies from it's shaker-scoop and more aggressive tune.

All those numbers listed above are FLYWHEEL numbers. They may detune the automatic version as the current tranny isn't up to snuff for the current 302hp motor as it is.
