That's a good one. It's no Grand Prix but it is good.

I'm Tivo'ing it right now. By tomorrow I'll have it on DVD. :D

BTW, anyone know if it's legal to get married to a Tivo unit? I sure love mine!

Couldn't find it again for the rest of April, May and June in the TCM schedules. Also known under the name "58 Miles to Terror".

... but Thunder Road comes on 5:30 AM Eastern, 25 April
:D

Thunder Road is so cool. There is a scene where Robert Mitchum is driving fast on the Cherohala Skyway. He's running from the cops and casually lights a cigarette with one hand. Mitchum was just too cool.

To lend some realism to the movie, the film company actually went out and bought some of the moonshine runner cars ..... who took the cash and promptly went out and upgraded their fleet to newer and faster cars. :D

Well it was thunder, thunder ...
over Thunder Road
Thunder was his Engine and
White Lighten was his load ...

And it was moonshine, moonshine ..
to quench the Devil's thirst ...
The law they thought they'd get him ...
But the Devil got him first.

I was up early this morning when "Thunder Road" came on. Watched the whole thing. Finished the movie and a pot of coffee before the wife dragged herself downstairs. :coffee:

Most of the cars in the movie were Fords. The only Chevy that I saw was driven by the Feds at the very end of the show .... a '57 Chevy.

Hot Rods to Hell was on Speed a few months ago on their "Lost Drive-In" feature on a Saturday night. That is pretty cool because it includes some of the old drive in movie trailers and ads for the snack bars.

I watched it for the first time earlier this week, I had never heard of it. I have to say this is by far one of the worst movies I have ever seen. My old man said all of the made for TV movies were kinda like this in the 60s and he loves em.

But if the story was good and there were no cars it would be a chick flick.
