Ok guys, My Fiance was driving my 03 Rauder and it cut off on her at a stop light about 6 minutes from my house. Got it started again and limped it back to a station about 2 minutes away where I figured out it had NO Oil pressure and some tapping noise coming from the bottom end like it wasn't getting oil which it obviously isn't. The car has less than 40K on it and I run Synthetic in it. Oil still looks good and isn't black yet. WHAT COULD BE WRONG??? And do you think that I have permanent damage in the bottom end??? ANY help would greatly be appreciated guys!!!!! Thank you!!!
It may be an oil pump problem. Hopefully the tapping is that and not damage. Do you have an underdrive pulley?
Sounds bad.
Rods and mains dont last but a few minutes at most without oil.

bigal, do you have the OEM fake oil pressure gauge, or have you replaced it with a real working one?

+2, If you do, Maybe a impact gun was used to install it and cracked your oil pump gear.

OEM and I wasn't aware that there was a problem with them? I guess that I should change it out with another after I replace the motor?

Not exactly sure what brand? I bought the car from a car guy that just happens to be a service manager at a Ford dealer in New York State. I think he did alot of research with the things that he did to the car and it has your chip in it. I Bought it with 23,007 miles on it and it has 33,986 at the time breakdown. 11,000 completely trouble free miles and BAM!!

are you going to perform an "autotopsy" on it to see what went wrong??

Yes, because at this point I am sooooo Pissed at Ford I'm going to make a campain against them! I own a diesel Excursion thats paid for and my Rauder, why would I want to buy another Ford when I have to replace an engine at 34K. I've had fun with this car but it has Never been beat on!! Just don't understand it??

Unfortunately there have been several engine failures associated with a certain type of underdrive pulleys. Probably the ones you have.

Man, that would really suck to think I lost an engine because of a set of pulleys :mad2:

It's not Ford's fault. Why blame them?

OEM and I wasn't aware that there was a problem with them? Yeah...the problem is that it's a glorified idiot light. The pressure switch closes when you have ~6 psi, causing the gauge to read about 62 lbs all the time, whether the motor is hot or cold, at idle or at WOT. It looks nice, but it's worthless.
I guess that I should change it out with another after I replace the motor?Yes. AutoMeter makes a nearly identical looking replacement that actually works...p/n 4327...The kit can be obtained from Innovative Interceptors and also from Dennis Reinhart; both are supporting vendors here. *Note*: You also have to replace the sender, which is included in the kit.

If you really want to keep the exact OEM gauge look, there is a thread on performing surgery to the 'real' gauge' and OEM gauge to change faces etc.
You can do the same with the sender if that's important to you.

Well first of all I wasn't aware of any problems with the pulleys if I have that type to begine with? This car hasn't even turned 34K yet and I have to replace the motor? I believe it's Fords oil pump inside the Ford motor so Yes I blamed Ford. You wouldn't be pissed/dissapointed??? These motors should go 200K without a rebuild especially when your running Syn oil.

I'm just mad and hurt that I have to do a motor swap on a 34K car, numbers won't match when it means something in 10 or 15 years. I've become a Ford guy since buying my truck in 02 but Ford not even willing to talk to me over this says that I may not want to buy another Ford. Gm and Dodge may not be any better but I know thats Ford isn't at this point! LOL.

I do not think this is do to UDP unless there BBK. I think it could be detonation, now some people have bought BBK UDP and these are piggy back, its says in the instructions the dampener must be reinstalled in front of the larger pulley. I sold these years ago and quit because several people did install them, and never fully read the instructions and drove car with no dampener, and this will of course cause oil pump failure.

Thanks for that correction, Dennis...you're right, of course; the piggy-back pulleys were made by BBK, not March as I originally stated.

Read my post in your other thread, about the dealer service manager.
Do you have a good relationship at that dealer? It may not be too later to try another.

If the car has been entered ito OASIS its to late, and if having a matching number is a issue with you. I would just rebuild the OEM block like it should have been, with a steel crank good rods and clean the heads up

It is in Oasis because of this.

Well if they didn't make note about the pullies, that might help.
As I said before if you can change it back to stock pullies, also return t a stock tune if it isn't now, and if you can
