I agree. One of my close friends has a 2006 Stage 1 and it is brutal. It smokes my Marauder everytime, but it's probably the weight difference that is killing me.

Roush is offering many stages of upgrades... up to one 22k package that is factory warrantied and fully blown.
Personally, if they offered just the performance package without all the plastics, I'd be more interested in them than I am right now.

The dealer in the next town over has 30 Roush 427R's. :bows: BAD ASS ride. Beautifully detailed, Roushcharged, everything. Me and my buddy with the L in the sig pic went there in both of our cars. Every one for some reason said only $27k. We were like, "WTF, are these flood cars or something? Then a nice salesman came out and said, "Don't pay attention to that sticker, it's the one on the windshield you want to focus on." $48k. :alone: He said if I trade in my MM and my buddy trades in his L the payment would only be about $550 a month lol.

I don't think they have Borla's. All of the Roush mufflers say Roush on them. They could very well be some nice "aftermarket" Ford made ones, or maybe Mr. Jack Roush designed them himself.

Too bad they're axle back mufflers, not to mention they have tips built into them.

On a similar note, the FRPP Dual Mode mufflers, people have said these come on the 03/04 Cobra's stock. I went to SVTP and asked and they're totally different than the stock Cobra mufflers. I wonder what mufflers the Cobra uses then?

"Wow" !!! Talk about limited edition, that Roush Stage 3, (BlackJack) is limited to only 100, and they're all pre-sold.

time to get a super-charger, not tell him about it, and pile in 4 of your best friends...
...then race him!

Ok I did a little more research. It shouldn't be that hard to fabricated the Roush mufflers for a complete muffler swap. The fact that they are axle back doesn't mean you can't weld this piece off and that piece off. Then plug them right in place. What's so hard about that???? Or am I missing something???

The 427R Mustangs sound and look very nice, but at $48,000, come on! New MM at $27,000 and a Trilogy plus mods = $35,000 = low 12s or less. What does a 427R run for $48,000 and with an 600#+ weight advantage vs. a MM.

My MM ran on the bumper of a 427R Mustang at Road Atlanta for 3 laps until I overheated my trans. I almost hit his bumper 3 times. Heavy autos are not made for road tracks.

Roush's are still awesome, and I would definately want one. The 427R's around here about $44-47k if you look hard enough new. Although, if I had that money to spend on a 'Stang, I'd just put in $8k more and get the Blackjack.

my area of Mass has 3 427Rs at a dealership. there is one stage 2 roush in town but he already messed it up. he went 100mph around a corner and lost control. popped up oveer the curb, ripped the front end off, and then tore off the back when he spun around on the grass. all the suspension was gone. but they still rebuilt it , "because it was a roush". i am a good friend of the body shop that got it. they said when it was done, they were still scared to drive it, it was stupid fast.

Glenn,
Big brakes and a handling package , the dress up stuff are also included... oh and a full Ford Factory warranty.

If I did not love my Marauder so much, I'd have traded it in this past April on the blue and white 427r sitting at the Ford dealer in Lake Wales Fl.... it was close.
