My driver side fog light shatered when a rock got kicked up by the car in front of me. I was shocked to discover that our fog light lenses are glass. Does any one know how much ford charges for a replacement lens? Or better yet, does anyone have one they could sell me? I already tried the junkyard around here and they were pritty much useless. (too rair i guess) I also found this on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MERCURY-MARAUDER-FOG-LIGHTS-lamps-lamp-light-marader_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcate goryZ33709QQihZ007QQitemZ17010 1153613QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V ).
I know I saw a thread around here somewhere about these aftermarket fogs, but I can't find it again. I definatlty remember reading that someone tried these but they didn't fit too good. Does anyone have any experence with these lights, or any help you can offer on how to change the sock ones out.
Any advice at all would be great. :help:

Ha, Blackened300A posted about that fog light kit a while back. Unfortunately, I bought it. Not to my surprise, it didn't fit. It's definately NOT a bolt in kit. The lamps are way bigger than ours stock. Luckily I sold them to a friend to mount on his brush guard for his truck.

stick with OEM, it will fit, install easier, and work properly
like "they" say "you get what you pay for":D

Yes I did and thanks to you letting me know about your bad experience, I saved my $$ and moved on.
I even e-mailed the guy to ask him if they are a direct replacement for the OEM's, the response I got was I have to use the new mounts that come with the kit. In other words, (No they dont fit, and I wont admit to it.)

Thanks for the info. I didn't realise the ford replacements were so cheap. I was expecting them to be very expensive since the car is out of production. I'll definatly purchase the factory replacement. Any advice on how to take the fog lens out?

I did mine the naive & difficult way- removed the left front tire and squeezed my arm in with a ratchet and socket. I heard that it can be accessed underneath through the velcroed area.

It's actually really easy without taking the tire off Brian lol. And yes, just remove the "mud flap" like piece out that is held on with a few socket bolts, if you sit on your butt, you can see inside to the foglight and use a ratchet to get it out.

The same happened to me, I thought someone had just done it out of anger but I guess if they wanted to do something to my MM, they would of done something worst. To replace it is very easy, just make sure you don't turn the level of the fog light, otherwise you would have one pointing up. BE CAREFUL WITH THE BROKEN GLASS!!

BTW, if the mounting bracket is good, keep it. You might have a member here who could use it.

This is very true of any take-off parts that are still servicable.
There is/will be a growing need for replacements on other Marauders and upgrades for other Panthers.
Post the extras in the classifieds!

the local dealer here sold me mine just under $50.
I had one broken one, and one sandblasted one.
