While the Aston Martin is an exotic, and a fine desirable automobile, personally I like the Marauder better

Say that about a new V-12 Vanquish and I'll :fishslap: you.
As for the Lagonda??? Use it as a daily driver?
:fishslap:

I've got a lot of :fishslap: 's lying around, and I'm not afraid to use them!

man, that is a odd looking car..
It kinda reminds me of a K Car crossed with a Delorean..
It would be neat to own an Aston Martin though

That car is straight outta the old "Thunderbirds" show...a '60's view of what the future would look like...but I kinda like it.

Prolly be a byatch to get parts for, though...

Was it this car, or a Quattroporte that was stretched into a limo and used as Richard Dawson's (the game show host) ride in "The Running Man", starring "The Guvernator"?

Actually, just caught the mileage--8000km on an '84? A 23 year-old car with less than 4000 miles on it, a rare one at that, to use as a daily driver? Seems like a waste...

Though I guess with a Lagonda it's not like you can hold out for a higher-mileage example, with only 768 made and probably less than that surviving to the present, another isn't likely to come around anytime soon I guess.

As I understand it, they had very problematic electrical systems.

I wouldn't even bother looking for parts for these. IIRC only about 9,000 Aston Martins had been produced in total before Ford bought them out. That's 9,000 cars in about 90 years. At the time, nearly 99% of them still existed and were accounted for.

Apparently they are a car that very seldom gets driven or wrecked.

That Lagonda is a stunning car and one I'd never even consider driving. If I ever hit the PowerBall, I'd park one in my mansions living room on a rotating display.:D Sure would beat some old oil painting!

Out of curiosity, how much did they ask for the car?

I haven't got any idea what the current exchange rate is, but I do know the '84 Aston Martin Lagonda stickered new for about $153,000. US. (I've never once thrown away a car magazine in my life!)

I think I would have pounced on it for that price. Let me know if you spot a Ferrari 288 GTO for a similar price...

The 8K km AM Lagonda was going for C$24500 ...........

Surprised. Seems very low.

Great looking vehicle. As I recall, they came with a Chrysler 440 V-8 and Torque Flite automatic transmission.

Great looking? I prefer these;

I like to think them as the "English Mustang"

Anyways... maybe the US might want to pay attention to "how far along" AM took the V8 series coupes?
From 1986 to 2006, that V-8 coupe evolved into the V8 Vantage, while in the same timeframe, the Mustang devolved 30 years.
Of course, since I own an '05 GT, I'm not exactly complaining!

I think that was the Jenson Interceptor.

I heard also that the dash wiring/switches/lights were a problem as they are sort of "touch to activate" sortof. Anyway, they were over 200k new, a true legend. I like those 4 door late 70's Quatroportes too and you can get them under 10k now.
