Ill sum it up in a few sentences....

The car has literally drained me of the passion to go fast, pioneer new frontiers and be the guy who is first to do something. I cant wait to turn the key of my blue car because its stock and a blast to drive. Reliable and gets looks.

The car is not what it once was; Its scratched all over the place cause it turned into a storage shelf for a while. It shredded a belt as soon as I got it dyno tuned. Im just not in touch with it anymore and Ive got a host of home projects ahead of me.

Although I will take it to the track in June, Im not sure how our future will be at this point.
Write up? Dont hold your breath!

Me too. Went to the 1/8 mile track a couple of weekends ago, shredded a belt, bent the tensioner. Had enough, so I pulled the s/c system off and will be having a N/A dyno tune tomorrow. Don't have time or desire to keep working on it, I want to drive it.

Yes, but...

I already promised first dibs to someone, and it is a tuner kit: Meaning it is not a complete bolt-on system and will require a little bit of parts chasing.

For instance, I have kept my fuel pumps, BAP, and larger fuel injectors as well as the MAF. I was running an 8-rib setup so it will either need a 6-rib pulley or upgrades to all the other pulleys to accomodate the 8-rib system. The coolant reservoir will be needed as well as a coolant crossover tube and a fan shroud.

I have the D1SC head unit (just rebuilt), bypass valve, intercooler, piping, couplings, clamps, and tb elbow adapter.

The only good S/C belt drive system is a cog belt drive system.

Hey do you have the info on upgrading all of the pulleys to 8 rib...?
I am currently setup for 6 rib and would like to look into changing over...

If you are running 16lbs or less with the good 98 Cobra cover, you can probably get away with it.
Make sure you have the steel tensioner and I think you will need a 112.4 belt.

We plan to run exactly 16lbs.
We are running a 98 cobra cover
and plan to use the steel tensioner...

although before we tore up about 4-5 belts... and that was b4 the new upgrades...

Dont use an anti-slip pulley, they eat belts.
Make sure you have crazy belt tension.
This new setup is kinder to belts cause the alternator is in its stock location and flexes less.

You want to reduce flex, re-enforce the blower braket somehow.

Zach i understand your feelings. The more and more I love my wife's 01 because its mostly stock, gets good looks, and I can beat on it hard and it dosn't break like my GT does. Hell my GT is in the garage right now down to the block. It lifted the heads so its getting ARP studs and I've gota have the thing done by monday.

But I really like to drive mine. BTW, four of us broke in November at SSHS6. I believe only one of us has driven their car since then. 10k+ miles on the new engine.

Damm Zack, I was waiting for some serious results. I had some tensioner problems as well, broke two of them, shredded a belt. Went to the 8 rib system, larger tensioner pulley, dropped the blower pulley back from a 3.5 to a 3.7 and all has been fine. Drive the car every day when home. Drove it to the track and home after my 11.3 run with the Nitto DR's. I have had some great luck with the car after some headaches in the beginning with the built motor. Now all is fine. You are not the type of guy to throw in the towel. Get it right when you mind is right. We are patient around here.

Myself and a few other club owners utahstangs/utahmusclecars/f-body guys, etc are putting together a track event where we can avoid the ricers. Race day is thursday. I've gota have it running by monday. Tues and Wends I'll be working and won't have time to wrench. Got the heads back on tonight though. Should be done by sunday. Then no more head lift!!!

Pioneering is an energy consuming process.

The more the results are further away from your expectation, the greater the lost energy, even to the point of ending all interest. THe solution is to temper one's expectation so that you don't get that disappointed. You'll be back.

Are the stats on your blue car what you have written at the bottom of your post?
