Another reason wherever I go, I make sure I get to watch and talk with the tech as my car is being serviced. :mad2:

Holy Cow, that is exactly why I change my oil and trans fluid myself.

Right out of high school I had gotten my transmission rebuilt on my 1988 Grand Am by a very good transmission shop in the month after having it rebuilt only one place had been underneath my car....Jiffy Lube. Went and got an oil change and afterwards I went a friends house and parking on a hill. It had been raining for about two hours before I left and came out saw the rainbow oil trail, got down and saw the fluid was red...transmission. Took it right down to the transmission shop and the owner came out and he asked who has been underneath my car because someone pulled a cruel joke on you. SIX transmission oil pan bolts were totally missing in a row. I believe 100% that it was Jiffy Lube because the transmission shop owner (who did the work personally) was a family friends and an old war buddy of my grandfathers who had worked on our whole families vehicles and never had one problem. Went back to Jiffy Lube talked to the manager, two days later he called me to let me know one of his "lube techs" admitted to doing it because I was from a rival high school.

I know that has nothing to do with that video but it has everything to do with Jiffy Lube, I hate them lol.

Good reminder !!! This is an old tape that dates back to at least October 2006. It was reported here before >>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=30651&highlight=jiffy+lube

That's the very reason I try to do all of my routine maintenance myself. Case in poit, did 2 oil changes Tues. eve -- one on Ol' Blue and one on Ol' Red. And I don't have to oil dripping on my garage floor from underneath when I am done!

Cheers!

My friend B.B. had his car serviced. They changed his transmission fluid with motor oil and changed his engine oil with antifreeze. He made it to the first stoplight when she quit. At first they tried to say it wasn't their fault. He had the car towed to a GM dealership and Jiffy Screwed bought him a new engine & tranny + associated pieces-parts & labor.:revenge:

There are only two people on this planet I trust with MY Marauder. Claude and his technician.

I forgot to add this. I used to take my Ford Probe to a Valvoline instant oil change place for a few years. My car was flawlessly clean, exceptionally well-maintained and spotless all the time. The pit tech told me to come see my outer CV boot that was torn and would need replacing. Yep, it was ripped open all right - and there was not a single spot of joint grease on the inside of the wheel or the suspension components. I was so pissed! I knew they cut it. I never, NEVER had my oil changed by anyone again. The grease got all over the place on the way home and I couldn't prove they did it.

We should all send Emails to Jiffy Lube saying how disappointed we are with them and see what they do.

...my brother's wife had one of those Diesel Cadillacs. The engines either went bad early, or ran forever. She had one of the good ones. Had the oil changed at a fast-lube place and drove it away with a loose drain plug. The engine siezed, and the shop ended-up replacing it with a new gas engine.

A friend of mine took his company car to a local auto tire/repair/service dealer. It was hot when he picked it up. He left with the air cond. on high, and the stereo blasting. He got a mile away, and realized they drained the oil and replaced the drain plug, without putting any oil back in it. Pity the next owner of that car.
