Ok I have a used marauder that has 15.000 miles on it. the car seems stock no upgrade exhaust or intake or anything that I can thank of...when i bought the car it was said that it has a upgraded computer and he couldnt thank of any other mods.....ok my friend has a marauder too.. but, he has a few more mods then me, like he has a JLT intake and a SCT excal programmer with a reinhart tune and a ugraded exhaust system........ok my point being my car is faster then his....when we race my car pulls much harder then his and is much quicker ..i can burn tires with esss me and him and a few other people thank i have 4.10 gears is this possible and how can i tell.... I have never drove a car with 4.10 gears before....

Each car although being the same are different. Yours, could quite possibly be a ''freak'' car. There are known to be differences as big as a half to 3/4 second difference between 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
My suggestion, START MODDDING NOW!!!!!! Your car will love you for it

Open differential and look at gear marks...the ratio will be stamped on the ring gear.
OR, jack rear of vehicle and place on jack stands (both wheels) Mark driveshaft and one wheel with reference marks. PLace trans in neutral, rotate rear wheel once while observing and counting driveshaft revolutions.
3 1/2 DS rotations to one wheel is most likely 3.55 (stock) Just over 4 DS rotations would indicate 4.10...and so on.

Another way to teel the gearing would be your RPM @highway speed. I have 3.55's, my RPM's @ 80 mph are about 2300. 4.10's you would be closer to 2700 or so............Good luck

+1^^^Easiest way to check. You might do a search for "rpm 4.10" to double check the numbers.:)

This document was posted some time ago and could help you determine the ratio of your rearend.

You car has an upgraded computer? Do you have a chip? Could it be that you just have a better tune than your friend does?

That's a good point. If he has a chip upgrades will be easy since a chip can be removed and he can go to a flashed tune or.....
If his car has been flashed and he didn't get the tuner he may encounter a problem returning to a stock tune if he ever has to do that.

When you inadvertently punch the accelerator and your head snaps back -- ya got 4:10's :D

It does snap your neck when I hit the gas...even when it goes through the gears the tires break loss when it hits 1st and 2nd gears

^^+1^^
Improved adjustments in A/F mixture, engine timing, TC lock-up schedule, and shift schedules make a world of difference.
Oh BTW, If its a 04 vs 03, the 04 has a higher stall convertor which will put it out ahead off the line over a 03.

I think your friends tune is off and its killing him off the line, I have had that happen to me with a bad tune.
I raced a stock 04, at the time I had U/D pullies, intake spacer, 4.10's and a reinhart tune, off the line he had me by a bumper I slowly pulled past him. I also had a hard time spinning tires off the line.
After a dyno tune I was able to spin with ease and I would leave the 04 by a half a car length and pull away faster in the mid range.
Another possibility in addition to 4:10's is a higher RPM stall converter. That does wonders for launch in conjunction with 4:10's and a tune.
Sounds like you have a real sleeper. That's why my Marauder is fast.

Your car may have a dyno tune. I had a mail order tune from a vendor here. After having the car dyno tuned I picked up 50 hp in the midrange over what the engine had been making with the mail order tune.
