My C5 Corvette is a company car—a lease, which expires October 19th. I had already ordered a 03 Z06 when I got the bad news. We (my company) can’t afford it. I’m now in the process of de-modifying it, i.e. pulling off the nitrous, cold air… etc. I’ll leave the torque converter in. ;)

So here I am. Nice board by the way. I test-drove a Marauder last weekend. It’s a nice car. Of course it’s not a C5, but it’s what I can afford right now and I don’t feel bad about it at all. I’m actually looking forward to it. $200 for gears! I can’t begin to tell you how bad they rake us Corvette owners over the coals when it comes to mods.

So within the next week or so, I’ll be the proud owner of a 03 Marauder.

Looking forward to spending time here. I’ll have a bunch of questions, since this will be the first Ford I’ve ever owned.

I know... Corvette's, Viper's, Prowler's... They all get ripped when it comes to the mods...

Just wanted to give an update since I last posted almost a month ago. I walked away from the Marauder and am now the proud owner of a ’03 SVT Cobra. This car is bad-ass. IMO it definitely replaces the Corvette as best bang for the buck. Considering that I paid 12K less than what I was going to pay for a new Z06, and it’s only 15hp less! I also swear it handles better than my C5—although I didn’t have the Z51 package, so I can’t compare it to that model Corvette.

Anybody know of any good Mustang Forums?

The 03 hp is under-rated. From what I have seen online, it is common to get about 370 rwhp which works out to be about 435 hp at the flyweel from a stock car.

There are simple mods too. Get a pulley from a lightning, a cold air intake kit, or free flowing exhaust. A free flowing X or H pipe with cats, new mufflers, and a K&N filter I've read can get you about 410 rwhp => 480 hp at the flywheel. The lightning pulley is cheap and will increase boost. Your must get it tuned when installing it or things start to break.
