The June 2007 issue of "Automobilie" magazine has an interesting article on the N2A Motors 789.

Pics here >>> http://www.automobilemag.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0706_2007_n2a_motors_789/

The name says it all "789" --- "... a '57 Chevy face artfully grafted to a '58 Impala's middle and a '59 Chevy bat-wing tail." It's based on a Corvette chassis and has the corvette windshield and top.

On sale for a reasonable $135,000. :D

I'd have to chain it to the porch so it didn't just ugly away on me.

Or so the cat won't keep trying to bury it.

I believe I saw that abortion in Atlantic City.
The running gear was late model Corvette.

I think the thing is beautiful! It's certainly different.

Doesn't Texas require a vision test for a license?

I'm with you. Although there are many cars out there I'd spend 135K for, before considering that one; I think it's cool & different. :D

Dan has a problem with '57 Chevys. ;) Must go back to the day he was born.

I grew up in the era of the '57-'59 Chevys -- so this concept is pretty interesting. The '59 design didn't last long 'cause the wing tend to lift the rear end -- sort of a reverse spoiler. The '60 version was squared off and less "wing-like". '61 went back to the no fin look.

Would I spend $135K for it? No way. But I do think that it is a cool looking car -- and a one-of-a-kind tribute to the '50s. :D

Each of those cars on it's own = NICE!

Toss them together in a blender = eh....

To each their own, but I wouldn't drive it....

Actually, no.
When I reported to the DPS (moved from Michigan), I queued up in a mile long line, where I filled out a few forms, then had my pic snapped.
I wear glasses, my Michigan license had nearly expired, and TX issued me a brand new one (good for 10 years) without EVER asking me to look into the little box.
As an aside, there were EASILY 20 people there who could NOT read a single line of English, and they were passed right along with me.
Any more questions?
:P

(and if anyone here is from TX DPS, or knows anyone that works for them, this entire story is fictitious)
