New job

As some of you may know, I have been un and underemployed for a while. Between recovering from my hip replacements and the sad state of the economy in Detroit, the job search has been discouraging.

On Monday, May 21 I begin my new job as Technology Manager for a national insurance company. It is a pretty cool job. I will be reporting to the CTO. I will be responsible for the Help Desk and other support departments, and all aspects of customer/IT Department interface. I will be tasked with developing SLAs, SOPs, and monitoring the performance of the IT support effort.

It will be good to get a steady job and not have to spend as much time selling the job as I spend working it.
