I went to Norwalk Friday. The Track SUCKED! NO ONE got a 60' better than a 1.6.... even a few racers who were there who average 1.3 -1.4's. Anywho.....

I ran a best of 13.08. My 60' times were NEVER below a 2. I used, and killed a set of used DR's, and even a set of ET Streets. Still...nothing. All in all, it was a good day at the track.

After leaving, about 5-10 miles from the Track, on the back roads, things went downhill for me. We came to a Stop Sign, and turned right. The car spun up to about 3-4K before it shifted. It shifted into 3rd at about 5500 w/ part throttle!!

Eventually, it got to the point where the car would NOT move. It seems now, that if I turn the car off, then back on, I can pick a gear and the car will move until it encounters resistance (ie...hill).

When I finally got my car towed home, and looked in the garage, there is a small puddle where the Trans is. Looking at the Trans, fluid is leaking from the Rear Seal. So...it looks like my car may have a "bad" Driveshaft.

At this time, it looks like I am into a new Driveshaft and a Rebuild Kit. I might as well do the Rear Head cooling Mod while I am at it.

I guess this gives me a reason to install the 3500 TC I have sitting in the garage, but still...this sucks. I am glad this happened before we headed to FL in July. Could you imagine the car kacking in the sticks of TN!! :omg:

Could just sell you my spare tranny, then you could put one in while you build a killer trans out of your old one... :)

That is the route I would take. a bullet proof rebuild I am sure costs less that a new one out the plastic. Darn good run though. You were a eye blink away from having a 12 sec Marauder.

Ya Steve this is what scares me.How far were you from home?I am gonna try to make it to Milan this thursday. The track is rented and I want to see how far I can get into the 13`s with my 80 shot.I do have a slight tick in my rearend that comes and goes ad Im wondering if I should get that checked first. It`s a long way for a tow.

It cost $156 to tow the car 31 miles to Barry's dealership.

Then a member of my local racing forum (the ones who put the event together) towed me from there to home, for a total of about 130 miles or so. He charged a full tank of Diesel ($80) + $150 cash. It is good to know people who really are "good people"! THANKS BRIAN!!!
