Question: I am selling my Vortech Supercharger from my Chevy and someone asked me what compression the engine has to be to push 10psi. I wish I could answer this. Does anyone know what compression is takes to push 10psi on a Chevy engine? Thanks this would really help my sale.

They're separate issues. Compression ratio is irrelevant to how much pressure you're pumping in at the manifold.

Thanks I'll pass that on.

Yes, it's hp not compression that drives the blower. You use hp to make hp.

The more you know! :D

Seperate but related. The vortech at 10 psi should work fine with an intercooler up to about 10.5:1 compression. With a good tune, you could go higher compression..

It's the way it's worded that bugs me. You don't have to be at *any* particular compression ratio to achieve 10 lbs boost.
Boost is measured at the manifold, and if you're looking for 10 PSI, you adjust the pulley sizes and such.

If the question is "what's the max compression that you can safely run, while pushing 10lbs boost", that's a whole other matter.
