Help, a Silver Metallic Sharpie attacked the MM back seat. Fortunately my youngest was on her guard and apprehended the Sharpie after only a one inch mark was made.

I tried a rag w/ Lexol soap to no avail.

Please help remove the evidence the Sharpie left.

A company by the name of gliptone makes a leather care kit that I use, it has cleaner and conditioner, that work well, but they also have a stain removal paste stick that is suposed to work on ink but ive never had to try it yet. they said it works on stains that regular leather cleaner wont get out, i think its called the glipstik or something corny like that

I have been told that a good old pencil eraser will take almost anything off of leather........then go back over with some leather conditioner

I'll second the isopropyl alcohol. When I worked at DENSO, that's what we used to clean our markings off of the ECUs.

Why was a child and sharpie present in your vehicle? I hope you learned your lesson. :P ;) Oh, and please don't use Armor All.

I drive her everyday, 20K per year, including dropping off the kids at school.

She is a work horse / mobile office - conference room, lap top & printer / camper - slept in her many a nite in the 60 days after Katrina / transportation to my customers in the cane fields and bayous / haul the family to school, parties, church and a drag racer.

Well then I would expect a whole lot of sharpie marks in there...

She has held up amazingly well. Cosmettically she is in the same shape as a well cared for car w/ 50k miles.

I'd try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on it. I'd be afraid that alcohol or Brake Clean may harm the dye of the seat. I've used the Magic Erasers on leather and interior plastics with amazing results. Good luck.

Some Off for children was spilt on my MM back seat and it took the finnish off, So i think brake cleaner might harm it as well.

I've had to remove black sharpie from tan seats - I used Meguiar's Gold Class leather cleaner+conditioner (not the two step aloe one, the one in the black bottle) with a soft bristle brush and a terry towel. After a little work, it was all gone

I personally would not use brake cleaner - it is way too harsh of a solvent. At the least it will dissolve the protective coating on the seats, the worst take some of the color out

Brake cleaner. Don't use carb it leaves a film. Spray it lightly onto the rag (AWAY FROM THE CAR) then gently go over it. DO NOT SPRAY IT ONTO THE SEAT you'll screw ALOT of things up.

HOWEVER.....I have straight methanol in my garage I use for my mustang. I've found that it cleans just about ANYTHING including marker and is very Gentle at the same time...
