Hey Guys,
I currently have an 11,000 km 03 with 4.10's and a tune from Lidio. I've determined that I will get a torque converter, as I'm not looking to spend with $ for a supercharger, at least at the moment. Some help with the following would be appreciated:
1. What is the part # for the precision industried converter that everyone is buying?
2. 3000 stall recommended? What is the OEM stall?
3. Do I have to notify that I have 4.10 gears when buying?
4. Will I need a new tune from Lidio, or not necessary?
5. Is there anyone in Canada who has made this purchase, and where from, what price,..etc. Or, any recemmendations in general about where to buy.
Thanks

Doing a site search I could not find the Stallion part number.
I have long since thrown out the box as well.
Here is a list of early discussions on this topic:

I can tell you that the stock tc is about 2700 or so. The 3000 makes an amazing difference in performance. No additional tuning is required, no reference to gears is needed.
We highly suggest performing the J-MOD while the tranny is out.
If you are keeping the car, the rear cooling mod is advisable, and very easy with the tranny out as well.

A. Call PI @ (800)649-7866 or visit their website @ http://converter.com/
2. 3000 stall recommended? What is the OEM stall?
A. See answer to question #1, OEM stall is 2700 or 2800.
3. Do I have to notify that I have 4.10 gears when buying?
A. No, the rearend ratio has nothing to do with the stall speed of the torque converter.
4. Will I need a new tune from Lidio, or not necessary?
A. Yes.
5. Is there anyone in Canada who has made this purchase, and where from, what price,..etc. Or, any recemmendations in general about where to buy.
A. Call PI, I'm sure they ship to Canada.

Thanks for the responses. However, there seems to be varying opinions as to weather a new tune would be required, or not.

I did not re-tune...perhaps some folks did. :dunno:

I know Reinhart is a PI dealer AND ships to Canada.
You don't NEED a new tune. A new tune will change shift point RPMs and TC lockup speeds to take advantage of the new stall RPM.
Even though the TC is rated at a given stall, the actual RPM at which the impeller and turbine are the same speed (stall) varies depending on the torque output of your motor.
It is for this reason a tune is ADVANTAGEOUS, but not NECESSARY.

I recant my former statement!!!
I seem to have forgotten that with my car, there was a very annoying dead spot between 2-3 when I was at WOT. There is/was a video online here showing it. Very annoying...and did it everytime. I lost a noticable bit of time at the track.
A tweak in my tune corrected it.

Were you running a stock tune initially, or a performance tune, that required adjustment subsequent to the new converter?

I have a video of my car on the dyno doing the same exact thing, when going from the 2-3 shift, the convertor would lock up and bog the engine down. A tweak of the tune took care of that and made a big difference in the driving experience.
BTW, There is no such thing as the last mod, If something comes out that is easy to install and increases horsepower for a reasonable price, Im sure you'll pick it up!

I have a new 3000 PI I got from the last Rinehart group buy. There is no number on the converter or the box it came in to i.d. it.

See my vBgarage.
Pretty much everything but NOS at that point.
However, the 2-3 bog happened to many folks, and some not at all.
Weird.
You'll know if does the first time you WOT.;)

Weird.
Maybe its common with a certain PCM code or early 03's
