After a couple of weeks of really stressful situations, we had a pretty funny highway incident involving a bulldozer and a tractor-trailer.

Apparently, the tractor-trailer or the bulldozer somehow tried to occupy the same space in a construction zone. No one was injured, but it resulted in a dozer going for a little joy ride by itself.:burnout:

Here's the reason: The bulldozer operator jumped off the bulldozer without shutting it down.
:stupid:

First, the dozer swings down through the median and into the other lane of north-bound traffic. It batters through the guardrail and proceeds down a 100-foot embankment knocking over trees on its way to the golf course.

That's right ... A GOLF COURSE!:censor:

The runaway dozer now crosses a cart path, chews acrossed a green and into a shallow water-hazard pond, where it begins to spin around and churn the water hole into a mud puddle.

But wait, it's not finished with its trip.

The redirected bulldozer now climbs out of the pond and runs over a few more cart paths and several tee boxes before it begins to climb back up the embankment. It then smashes through the highway guardrail a second time in a different location, while a somewhat nimble, quick-thinker hits the "off" switch with a stick while the rampaging machine slows slightly.

At this time, it is undetermined if the bulldozer challenged the TT or the TT challenged the bulldozer, but I know you're all thinking what I'm thinking ... are they going to take the cost of damages out of the guy who jumped off's paycheck?

Seriously, I'm just glad no one was hurt. And, I really needed a laugh after the last two weeks.

I went out to deal with media and the family on a five-day search & rescue last week for a missing 86-year-old woman with alzheimers on a rugged mountain that ended with recovering her body. And Thursday, we had an overturned tractor-trailer full of 22,000 pounds of potentially unstable and highly toxic explosives on the highway that took a full day to clear.
