Wanted to do something for those in the armed services that are known by or kin to us here at MM.net. I think about those that have come home and those who have not, those who are overseas now, those that are on home soil, those that are in the middle of battles, those that are living in tents, those that are in hospitals, those that have had their bodies and minds crippled, those who have left pregnant wives, infants and children, those who have cried tears of grief for fallen companions and for those who long for the hug of family and friends. Yes I so admire our men and women who serve this great country of ours and give their all so I can enjoy my family and my life to fullest extent.
I want to offer a thread where we can list the names of loved ones, family, and those we know who are serving and need our support and prayers. I would like to have a list of names and when I minister Sunday morning I will bring these names up in my church for the whole congregation to pray for their safety and health,if you are a church goer maybe you can have your church pray also. I do not know how to do this best but maybe everypost can copy and paste the names from the previous post and add their names to the list. If you want to explain or tell the individuals story please do but just keep the names separate so we can copy and paste the names to the next post. If there is a better way by all means do tell. Thanks, Willie

My good friend and father of a new son, Adam Nestor is currently in Iraq and part of the unit that lost the three soldiers two weeks ago...

Also, my other dear friend Chris Quayle is scheduled to go on his third tour next month...

Needless to say, along with many others, they are always in my prayers...

My son returned from Baghdad in May 2005 with the 1st Cavalry Division. He's now at Fort Benning, GA with his wife and 6 month old son. I suspect that he'll be back in the rotation loop soon.

I retired in 1992.

Thanks for starting this thread. Its good to remember why we celebrate this day and remember all those who have fallen in service to their country. :flag:

My flag will be flying in Remembrance. :flag:

Oh yeah, the picnics-barbeques-and pool openings are nice too !!! :D

Thank you. I know many Preachers who would not do this. Your effort to recognise those who serve and have served is appreciated.

Thank you for keeping our beloved service men and women in the prayers of your congregation. If not for their sacrafices we would not enjoy what we have today.

At service this morning my church prayed for all the people that were listed in this thread and also we honored our vets at church for service and took names at church of loved ones and friends. My daugher in law read a letter from her sister who is in Iraq where she thanked us for some stuff we had sent her and her people, about 50 soldiers, we sent them all kinds of stuff like candy, cookies, letters from little kids even some play doh. She said they open their boxes and just sat and cried that someone still remembered them and cared for them. We also played the photo thing that was on here by Lizzie Palmer on our projector, everyone was touched. I then taught on the history of memorial day and then taught on why memorials are needed according to the Bible. Thanks for the names and tomorrow I hope everyone on here takes some time to thank our men and women for their service to this great country and us.
God bless,
