Well, ever since getting the Marauder I have not spent much time on the various Crown Vic websites. Looks like they have undergone some changes. Just wondering which is the "preferred" source for CV information these days? CV.us or CV.net?

Just asking as I am going to test drive an '03 CV PI that the local Ford dealership has for sale. Hopefully it is still for sale tomorrow. Pretty clean, straight, and 107,000 miles. Only real downsides are the vinyl rear seat, there are 3 antenna holes in the trunk lid that they have just covered with tape, left rear tire is low, and some scratches and chips on the left rear 1/4 near the fuel door. Nothing huge, just little things.

Going to call them during the day tomorrow and let them know I am coming buy and to get that rear tire checked before I get there. If she runs good, has working heat and A/C, and no weird things, might have myself a new daily driver. And, with it being an '03, my current winter wheels/tires will work on it if I want. And still have another spare set of 16's to put on the Marauder in the winter since I am thinking of sending the rears off next winter to get windened.

Anyway, mostly looking for input about the CV websites.

Thanks,

Starman

I use CVN.net. It is a real good community. There is a ton of info there. The only bad thing I have run into over there is the darn re-post police.

Post your questions there, but be prepared for someone to tell you if that question has already been asked a year and a half ago.

Off to the junk yard and get a nice Grand Marquis seat set for chump change and make the P71 into a M75....

Actually, would like to keep the buckets and put in a center console of some kind. The Marauder/CV Sport/GM LSE would be nice, but not looking to go that far. Just need something as a cup holder and to hold "stuff".

Guess we will see what happens tomorrow...

By the way, if I end up getting this, any ideas on what to use to fill those rear holes? I don't need anything pretty since the car is going to be my daily driver. I would tint the windows, put a CD player in, and of course a remote start since it will sit outside all the time. But I would definitely want to get those holes filled with something other than tape.

CVN is by far the best site out of all the CV sites. Use the search function, since there are far more posts on that board than there is here and guaranteed it has been talked about before and you shall find an answer. I don't go on there much since my CVN buddy's think I'm "stuck up" for buying an MM....

No surprise, no one hated the Marauder more when it came out than many of the CVN guys, and they really hated Logan for starting this board.

Eric, I'm told the SHO center console will fit a Panther.
I like CVic.net.
I will check out .us

THe "clutter catcher" is a common choice for p71 owners looking for a cheap, simple and effective center console. I believe most get them from walmart.

A nicer looking alternative would be a 1998+ Lincoln Town Car center console/'jump seat'
The Taurus consoles fit well: http://www.p71interceptor.com/shoconsole/
If you want to hook up a floor shift, a 2001+ Sport/LSE/MM console+shifter is a direct swap.
You can use a Lincoln Continental console, like I did, but it requires a lot of tweaking to get just right.

I bought a "center console" thing from Wal-Mart tonight. Has a couple of little storage spots, CD holders, and 2 adjustable cup holders at the front of it. This will have to do for now.

I think I will search for one of the SHO center consoles as that looks like a decent setup, especially the arm rest area which I really miss from the Marauder.

One more thing to add to the project list.

The $27 (mini-van?) console at Wal-Mark is actually a good one. I use a small pillow with mine.

CVN is the 1st & oldest site since 2000 its a good site but GMN is a great site it more geared to the Boxes but CVU is the worst of the worst of Panther sites & now there are 2 CVU`s the newest site is CVU.com ........
