This is a belated tribute to an American soldier who gave the last full measure of devotion on 4 April 2003 during an obscure battle action in Iraq near the Baghdad International Airport. He was awarded the The Medal of Honor posthumously on 4 April 2005 during a White House ceremony. :flag:

SFC Paul R. Smith was a member of B Company, 11th Engineer Battalion. My avatar pays tribute to this soldier who gave all to save his men.
I was a member of the 11th Engineers from 1972-1975. My son is now serviing the the same unit some 35 years later. "Jungle Cats Forward".
