Curt and I chased the #261 again today. The train was pulling a large excursion up to Duluth MN for the weekend.

It started at the Harrison St yard in North Minneapolis.

Thanks :o I got these with my Canon A530 point and shoot. I think it must have been the good light and Curt's expertise.

Thanks for the kind words. The Milwaukee Road #261 is one of the most beautiful steam locomtives ever built. It was originally built in 1944 and rebuilt in 1993. I've been photographing it since October 1994. It's based in Minneapolis, MN and usually pulls 3-5 excursions trips per year. In 2006 I chased it on two of those trips.

Thanks,

Hmm..a train chaser!! I have a brother who used to chase fires, and I know people chase tornadoes but this is a first. Just kidding, great pictures and thanks for sharing. When I lived in Harrisburg, Pa. they had a steam engine come through for a tour and they also had the ICE train from Europe.
