I'm finally getting the car blown, but I was wondering if I could beat on it with the stock gearing for a little while. I have a 4:10, but have yet to install it. I know a 4:10 is what is needed for the car to function better, but will the 3:55 hold up alright for a few weeks or am I asking for trouble?

Stick with your stock gears until you get a feel for how the blower performs......You may be pleasantly surprised!!!:bows::bows: My point being......if you spin the wheels wildly with stock gears why would you want to make it worse??
Good Luck with the blower!!

I have stock gears in mine for two reason's:
1) MPG
2) better for high speed road coruse vehicle's (which I do)

Alright so I guess they hold up just fine. I will put in the 4:10, but just not right now. Thanks!

The 4.10 and 3.55 gears are equal in strength. The main problem with the 8.8" rear differential is using the relatively weak 28 spline axles (31 spline axle-shafts are now standard on the 2005< Panther chassis).

What blower did you decide to go with?

I think the 3.55 will suit you fine. You are going to make lots of power now, enough to easily turn over the rears. You will soon be in the "Traction problem" zone. If you junp right into 4.10's, you will magnify the traction problems. You are already going to wnat wider tires out back, and have to loose the OEM tires, due to lack of "Gription"
Oh, the problems with too much power.....
Too bad you don't drink, I would come out there, take to the Ram or Yardhouse and we could discuss all this stuff over several pints....http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/0/3/8/Smoke_thumb.jpg (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/showimage.php?i=1133&c=3&userid=4038) <<< had 3.90:1 and I went up in smoke way too many times, even with "Sticky Micky" 10 inch X 32 inch slicks....

Higher top end speed as well. You never know when you want to outrun an AMG Mercerdes.

Well....
I pull a 1.63 60' with 4:10's NA. However I did kill the OEM LSD with slicks. An Eaton or Auburn LSD with 28 spline have held up well with mime. The damn motor just gave out.:D

I am sensing a theme. Slicks kill stock parts

PS - AMG65's only have 305hp at the Crank ;)
