Hey guys, well I think that I found a Brand new long block to put in my MM but was wondering if I should put an electric water pump in? How many ponies could I expect out of it? and I never had a problem with cooling but I would expect it would be better with an electric WP?

They say about 10-15hp extra or around there. I know most of the guys on here have them and like them. I might invest in one too down the line.

Pick up a EMP/Stewart mechanical water pump. Safe as a mechanical but flows and free's up HP like a electric all for half the price.
Heres how I know...
EMP/Stewart high performance water pump install - MercuryMarauder.net Forums (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35360&highlight=emp%2Fstewart)
The stewart is a very good option and a great price. Two advantages of the electric are that it will free up more HP, flow is consistent, even at low rpms and you can run the pump any time you want.
BTW, which longblock did you go with?

BTW, which longblock did you go with? I Have to agree with Juno. I had my Meziere Electric water pump installed since 8-21-04 with no problems but 1 replaced fuse. I have around 18,000 miles on it and it's still quiet and works fine. You will notice a slight increase in H.P. Someone here did a before and after Dyno a while back and got 12 RWHP from it.

Hey buddy, I really want to thank you for your help and patience with me! before I make an investment I just wanted to make sure it was the right one! I know alot about my GN but not the 4.6 DOHC engines yet.
I found a BRAND NEW NOT Reman MM Long block for $2500 shipped and it comes with a complete 3/36 warr, what do ya think?

WOW! Great read! Thank you for the link! I think I'll be going with the EMP over the stocker when I drop the new motor in!
