My front shocks are shot. So, while I had the assembly out, I figure I'll cut the springs. I know there's been a ton of info about it and KB did it. I've read it all.
I'd like to know current impressions especially from those who have been cut for some time and more especially what kind of shocks and how they've held up.
I have no problem doing this stuff. Done plenty of it. 1 coil is going bye-bye unless I hear from ya'll that it invokes very often shock replacement or some other PITA problem.
Thanx!

I cut 1 full coil. I like the ride, it is much smoother than the Eibachs. I have had them cut for about 1 year, and they seem to be holding up just fine.

I have had mine cut since I had the car, KB#8, and love it. Add on the Addco sway bars and Zack & Mac control arms and I'm ridding on rails.

Good Stuff.
Steve and Gordon, are you on factory shocks? If not, which brand after market?

I've had my front coils cut for over 3 years and I love it. The ride quality is a hair stiff but nowhere near as rough as the Eibachs from what I've heard.
I did one full turn and i'm still on the factory shocks.

Cut'em. +1 what Gordon said. I did mine recently and retained the OEM shocks.

I cut the PI springs on my 01 CV.... not quite the same but my advice is still important. Get yourself a spring compressor and do it safely. Use of the spring compressor only added a total of 30-45 minutes to the whole job but added a HUGE MARGIN OF SAFETY to doing this. Please stay safe and take lots of before and after pics for us. I also vote on doing it for looks... can't comment on technicals.
