View Full Version : My 2004 MM is Gone/Sold

I had over 300 lookers and 2 serious buyers. They wanted lowest miles MM, Black and all options. 1 was a police officer from Florida and a nice guy from Virginia. The Virginia fellow took the MM Sunday. Talked to him last night, he said the car ran perfect; it was a super trip back to his home.
Next new car? Anyone have any comments on the following cars? Let me know your opinion. It will help me make my decision. I am not loyal to any brand but it has to be American no matter what. Chrysler 300 SRT8 (6.1 Hemi). 2008 Shelby Mustang 500K. 2008 Camaro. 2008 Challenger. Or a daily driver of a 2008 Ford Crown Vic LX Sport.
Thanks,

Ralph:)

So they all want Black? :)

Sounds like collectors are looking now for these cars.

Ralph, Sr.

Did you tell the new owner about this site?

Since you asked for opinions, mine is to buy either the Mustang or the Camaro, unless you need the room of the 300...

And good luck buying a 2008 Crown Vic, since Ford stopped selling them to the public last year. They're fleet-only now. ;) (They still sell the Grand Marquis, though)

Congrats on the sale. After seeing your Marauder at Carlise Im positive you got your asking price for the car.

The Chryslers are supposed to be nice driving cars. Although they are kinda "ugly" at first glance, I would include the Charger w/ the Hemi in your search. The SRT8 Chargers are supposedly high 13/low 14 second cars totally stock. I thought the stock Marauder had "brisk" acceleration for such a huge tank of a car, until I looked at the #s the 4 door Mopars are putting out totally stock w/ the hemi engine.

Aw you jerk, if i'd known you were in wilkes barre PA, i'd have gone to look at your car! :(

Dont get the 300c, although the motor is very strong, the front bumper will fall off. Car and driver's long term car, the front bumper fell off 5 times. Search C&D for it.

Are the chargers even the same size as the marauder? Bigger motor means better times, im sure a 5.4L dohc in a marauder would really make it haul.

Food for thought

Exterior is probably smaller but it probably is as big inside. The Panther gives up a LOT of interior room to its massive nose.

If you haven't ruled out the Charger, check it out. I love mine. Otherwise, I'd have to go with the GT500KR. That is the most beautiful piece of machinery I have ever laid eyes on.

No doubt - if you could get one the 500KR's it would be the best collectable - but you'd obviously have to hang on to it for some time to benefit from that. Cool car - not sure how it will be better than the "regular" GT500 yet, save for exclusivity.

None of the rides you mentioned can really keep up with the beast you already own - the Z06 'Vette. I have been D-ROOOLING over those - the local dealer has had a yellow, a black, then a red parked out front. Care to take a minute to share your impressions of it with us?

The Camaro would be killer - however - what about the forthcoming Pontiac G8 w/ 6 speed manual? Have you considered that one at all? Oh and there's a new CTS V coming with monster (550 - 600 HP) power too.

In the Dodge family, I personally love the Magnum SRT8 - in black - yeah - due to my father's addiction to a '56 Nomad I have a thing for cool wagons....

Good luck with your choice!

Jeff

I got to try this orange one out for size, at 6ft tall, getting in carefully takes some time. I didnt want to plop right in the seat like it was a go kart w/ the manager watching, so it took about 5 min to get in, then another 5 to get out :o

Now if i were you, i'd come down to our chevy dealer, and talk the Owner out of one of these Ford GT's!

Get the Shelby 500KR

What he said^^^^

I'm a much bigger fan of the upcoming challenger Hemi than mustangs but the Shelby 500 King of the Road is going to be one of the best Mustangs ever produced, much more rare, and a true attention getter.

Basically, it will be a car you can love (as far as cars go if you know what I mean).

Too bad that even though it will be the most expansive MSRPed mustang ever produced that the dealers will add a price adjustment so high that you might want to buy three other cars instead. I expect it to sell for almost $90K.

$90K will buy you 3 other very fun cars imo.

Ever consider a Jaguar XKR. Jaguar is owned by Ford.

It is a Hatchback.

I thought the asking price was very high, even though the car was "as new". It's a good reference point, though, and very suprising that one went anywhere near the 30's, or that NorthEast is getting anywhere near their asking prices. I thought the values were starting to drop off, but aparently was mistaken.
It will be interesting to see how they hold up through the summer.

Ralph, as far as a driver is concerned, the Gran Marquis is still a bargain, IMHO. You might even find a new '06 on a lot somewhere.

Wow a near 30k Marauder. That is astonishingly high, you really found the right buyer. There was an 8,000 mile as-new Marauder I was considering that was 19k. The prices are dropping off, I paid 20 for mine w/ 23k miles on it, and is probably worth 16-17 now, a year later with only a few thou more miles on it?
