Not for me, for my g/f. She doesn't want anything older than probably '04. Doesn't want to spend more than $12-12,800 for anything, can be an import/domestic, whatever. NO Subaru's though since she hates them. She's always loved the Escapes, I found a decent priced one, but she's not sure. She wants the damn Suzuki Grand Vitara. Even though I have to admit, I think it's the '03+ look pretty stlyish. I found her an awesome Mazda 6 too and she loves though. Only downside is we're not going to look until next weekend and we doubt that it will be there. So, post away what you guys would get. Here's the Escape: http://www.boch.com/Boch/common/aspx/VehicleDetails.aspx?StoreID=4&searchType=used&stocknumber=H45919A
Only downside, a lot of miles, and the point of her getting a new car is to have something under 50k on it.
Here's the 6:

FWIW, you can pickup a used 05-07 Taurus in her price range with a lot of equipment, low miles and balance of the factory warranty. Practical, yes, stylish, umh, no.

How about, can I say it, a Chevy Monte Carlo. I think they're stylish, large enough to be safe, and say, an '05, be a good value. :twocents:

The Suzuki GV, properly maintained, will run nearly forever.

I figured that Rich. Haha yes Mary, Boch is fantastic. That guy could give away 1000 cars and he would lose no money. I don't like the Monte Carlo's, unless it's a late 80's one. We will see, I really hope that Mazda 6 is still there. Those are sporty/sharp looking cars, and it's half a Ford.

I bet you can get an 05 Montego/500 for that too. I have one, it aint much for looks (not ugly, just plain) but has the interior room of a minivan, gets 30 mpg on the highway and mine has been my daily driver for a while now with no complaints. Mine is front wheel drive with the six speed auto. Check one out.

You think we could find one for that much? I'll look, but I'm not sure if I can find one.
I think you should pitch in some mulah and get her this: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35418

lol thanks, I'd love to give her everything she wants, but there's no way I could pitch in and still be able to keep my car. And sorry, the MM was here before the idea of her getting a new car lol. I found her this, and I approve of the stylish factor. Good miles, and looks clean. Can only hope it will still be there in 2 weeks. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?&default_sort=priceDESC&dealer_id=49457615&end_year=2008&address=02038&make2=&start_year=2002&fuel=&keywordsrep=&certified=&car_id=216585553&search_type=both&max_mileage=&body_code=0&drive=&min_price=9000&engine=&distance=50&transmission=&make=SUZUKI&keywordsfyc=&sort_type=priceDESC&num_records=25&ref=srl&ref=srl&car_year=2003&doors=&style_flag=1&cardist=22&max_price=15000&advanced=&model=GRANDV&color=&ref=srl#vdptop

A wise choice. A co-worker has one with 180+K and trips from mid FL to S. TN several times a year. Looks like crap, but runs like a top.

That is so much better than the other way around.

She hates driving my MM and hated driving my old '95 CV. So a Panther is out of the question :(. Rich, has your co-worker had any serious problems with it? It really does look good and whatnot, and I hope it drives even better. I think the only thing she's going to do with it (and when I say she, I mean myself lol) is I'm going to buy a set of '04+ tail lights since I kind of like the altezza styled lights compared to the ones on there now.

The dealer I use had a few new '07 Taurus (the old style) for not much over 14K
