Today I saw a 2006 Lincoln Town Car with an emblem on each C pillar stating 25th Anniversay.

My question is... 25th Anniv. of what ?

Lincoln has been around long enough to have had several 25th's. The Town Car has been around for more than 25 years too. Maybe it's been 25 years since a complete redesign of the Town Car ? :rolleyes:
The car was all silver outside. The interior was dark charcoal, with silver accents. The seats were dark charcoal with light flint, or silver piping.
Does anyone know what anniversary this car is celebrating ?

Not sure either.

I was helping my Mother a while back in buying a Town car, and she almost bought the 25th Anniversary.

Just as described above with the accents.

The door sills are 25th Anniversary as well.

She wound up getting a different one instead.

Lousy looking flat seats,i. e., no lateral or any other kind of support. Boy, what will Ford do next in their decontentment of the Town Car?

I'm guessing 1981 was the first year for the Town Car as a model in its own right? The name's been around for a long time, but for the 70's it was I think the highest level of Continental....

I was looking at getting a 61 Continental Towncar, got the Marauder instead.

The 08 Town Cars will start coming out of STAP in December.. in the meantime you can get a export version of a Grand Marquis long wheelbase if you live in Kuwait or other exotic place...
