I'm curious. Has anyone been able to achieve low 14's / high 13's with 3.55's or 3.73's naturally aspirated? If so, will it smoke the tires on launch without power braking?
Just curious if I have to go down the road to 4.10's to achieve the naturally aspirated performance that I crave.

I ran solid 14.5's with a tune, underdrive pullys, 4.10's & a JLT.
With the new exhaust, PI TC and different tune I'm looking for high 13's.

Depending on your other mods...possibly.... but doubtful. PERSONALLY, I would not go to 3.73's. Not enough of a SOTP difference for the time and money invested.

I ran a 14.25 with a JLT intake, GM COP, 2nd set of cats removed, flowmaster mufflers, DR tune, 255/55 kdw2 tires at 25 psi and drivers side headlamp removed. Everything else is bone stock and with 3.55 gears and I also had the rear air suspension turned off several hours before I got to the track. Next time I hit the track which would probably be Marauderville I'll be in mid 13 range with the help from a 3500 stall TC, intake spacer and Z control arms.
So to answer your question yes you can do low 14's or faster with 3.55 stock gears but to get there you will have to power brake to pre load the torque converter otherwise you will spin off the line if your traction control is off (if you have it) and kill your 60ft time.
JoeWalsh's stroked 5.1L marauder ran 12.99 and he has oem 3.55 gears.
Edit: Also I run no less than a half a tank of 93 octane when I race and leave everything in the car, spare, jack, sub box, tools, etc.

I'm doin 14.2 at sea level in 90 degree heat and humidity you can cut with a knife. My sig links to my mods page.
I have headers, a TB spacer and a dyno retune coming next weekend so we'll see if that does it. My power mods haven't changed since the last dyno, so, the comparison should be interesting.
Lastly, I plan for an EMP water pump as the 'cherry on top' and that's it for power.
I'll be quite happy with a mid-high 13 car that breaks loose at will. No need for an SC right now.

I ran a 14.2 with Lidio's race tune, and gears "only". Nothing else.
The SW long tubes, 2 1/2" custom exhaust, and a 3000 stall torque converter go in on Monday.
I'll be in the 13's easily with that and my other current mods.
If you want to know what they are PM me.
No forced induction.

If I may be so bold, before you go this route check out
some of the superchargers. They come in all styles and prices now.
I drove my Marauder for 4 years before I purchased my Trilogy.
As I look back the only thing I accomplished was wasting 4 years of my life.

The optium gears for the MM is 410's--..period--do that if your gonna go up in gears--you will be happy--not much MPG loss either--I get great mileage on the road 20+--remember--it was 17/23 MPG on the sticker-----With all I have I get 20 + on the road and 15-16 in town----all playing--so there--plus I got about 200 more HP at the rear---Oh Yeah--It's fun----you'll see one day my friend---..Tom

No kidding, I've had everything for well over a year, and just have not had the time to get everything in. I'm hoping to be in the 13.6-13.7 range, with all my mods, wishful thinking, and a well prepped track.

You can run low 14's N/A with 3.55's, I ran 14.49 on just a tune, the rest of the car bonestock in Florida where you have to earn your times in hot weather. I also ran 12.79 with same 3.55's on street tires details in the sig....again in Florida, I would love to know what my car is capable of if the weather dropped below 60 degrees when I am at the track.:)
