Hello and welcome! You enjoying the Marauder after driving the Lightning?

I did...

Hard to compare the two vehicles, they're just so different. Obviously the lightning is faster, but the Marauder's alot classier and while from the factory is a bit of a dog, has great potential.

I've since gone to a 03 Harley F150 and am a happy happy piggy. Classy ride with Lightnin' powerplant. Definately needs help in the handling department though.

Wish I had room (& the cash) for both... :)

Answer to RCSignals:

The truck is great - it took the place of a gen. one lightning.

I need a four door sedan, but not a "geezer" car and the MM really fits the bill. I love driving the MM for trips and after a year of ownership (in 5 days) it has only 1500 miles on it. I got the Lightning in January and it has 5000 miles on it.

They are both great, but very different vehicles and I like them equally well.

Logan, We built your Harley truck here at the K C plant. The Harley trucks are 20 HP less than the Lightning

Lightning
99-00 360 HP
01-03 380 HP

So from a 02 to 03 point of view a 40 HP gap

2002- 03 HD 340 HP.

Why switch, I have both, one for comfort and one for brutality.

It's still the Lightning's drivetrain. The only differences are that the upper pulley is slightly larger, the lower pulley slightly smaller resulting in 2-3lbs less boost from the blower. That and for 03, they painted the HD's blower Black. Woooo Wooo!!

All self respecting HD owners immediately replace that lower with a 4lb Lightning pulley, giving back the lost 40hp + about 20hp more...

wow, so now that the Harley Davidson can meet if not exceed the Lightning's power, all one has to do is beef up the suspension to meet or bea the Lightning too.

Yeah, the problem with that thought, is not many lightning owners leave their pullies alone either. The drivetrain is good for a reliable 425rwhp, 550ft/lbs tq, more than that and the rods tend to take a trip through the side of the block.

Harley is packin' around an extra 800lbs over the lightning too... That being said, I've seen HD F150's running High-12's, low 13's in the quarter without getting too wild.

I keep seeing the usage of HD F150 with the Harley/Lightning type driveline. It makes me thing that the supercharged setup is available in regular F150s or is it the new 3V motor we're talking about?
